Exclamation Question re: Illuminated Door Sills

Hello All:

I recently purchased a 2018 Camaro 1SS. I was intending to purchase the GM Accessories illuminated door sills, but I have seen several complaints of the lettering lifting. How common is this issue?

I would hate to upgrade the door sills to have the lettering lift.

My 2016 has not had any lifting in over a year, I don’t step on them...

I have a 2017 ss. When I wash it I use a master blaster to dry it. It puts a lot of air force on it. It has not come off. I also wiped it many times. I never hit it with my foot when getting out of the car either.

Thanks for your responses!

I'm also very careful during ingress/egress to not scuff ANYTHING, so perhaps that will make the difference.

I put a set of 3M door sill protectors on mine soon after I got it. Haven't had an issue with mine.

Those Master Blasters are AWESOME!!! I bought one a few years ago for my Harley, and now I use it on the Camaro!

There's not one water spot on it after I use it. I had a small chemical guy one before it left water spots. The master blaster is great. Keeps your hands warm when drying in the cold too.

I have that option and it looks super classy at night when I exit the car..
Very recommended..

The heads up display I would have preferred to swap for a lower dash to
increase forward visibility out of the car.

I continue to read more and more reports of the lettering failing on these doors sills, which, as T32803 said, look awesome at night. So, unfortunately, I don't think I will be adding them to my vehicle.
