Noise from rear windows convertible
Hi folks,
I have a question concerning wind or squeaking noises from the rear windows. Is there a TSB for this. The dealer doesn’t find the cause of it. does this exist also in the US or is it only a EU phenomenon. By the way it concerns the convertible.

Only thing I see is this. The first one sounds like it could be your issue?

Before you roll up the front windows, be sure to roll up the rear windows first after putting the top up (if you aren't already following that sequence).
That's the only thing I can think of that some vert owners may not know to do (and just might also possibly be the cause of a squeak in that area). |

One area of concern may be the plastic wedge cover that is installed on the center alignment pin of the tonneau cover. This plastic cover may slide or wiggle around, causing this noise. There were 2 styles of wedge covers used on these cars. The first style was a V-shaped plastic wedge cover as seen in the photo below. The second style was a modified V-shaped wedge cover.
Anyone has pictures for these two styles? |
