Wheel dollies for storage?
Anyone store their car for the winter on something like these? I normally just put it on jack stands but thinking of going this route.

Nop, I use XPS foam plates increase the pressure and that’s it.

Why jack stands? Flat spotting of tires is a myth, with today's tires.
The purpose of these dollies is to move the car sideways in tight spots. What do you think puts a higher load concentration on your tires, a flat floor or the small diameter cylinders on these dollies (the ones pictured on the left)? They are for moving cars, not storing them. Just leave the car on the ground. Don't worry, be happy. I have have been storing my Camaro since 2010. |

you want quality dollies. I got the ones from summit. they work fairly well but the 6th gen metal is to thin to push the car. the only way to move it sideways is pushing on the tires. you need a clean smooth floor. leaving the car on them wont hurt anything no mater what style you get.

I use the Harbor Freight dollies, they look exactly like the ones on the right in your image, but grey. Use them to support a Lemons race car, which weighs about 2k pounds.

I ended up going with these. I’m always looking for better ways for doing things . Time will tell if they work.

Here’s my solution. About 160 bucks from my local fab shop.

I used the race ramps on my 13 ZL1 with the tires aired up. No flat spots.

That’s what I’m hoping. I figured for the price it was worth a shot.
