As far as I am aware, neither is available with a manual transmission. That's a deal breaker for me at this stage.

Ahhh....never even thought of that. I'm strictly an auto guy due to a motorcycle accident back in '82.

7th day update. The ZL1 withdrawals are subsiding. I still have my moments but the SS does a good job of reminding me why I left the ZL1 for her.

The SS reminds me of the character played by Charlize Theron in A Million Ways to Die In The West. She's picking up the mess left by the ZL1 and making a better man of me. She also happens to be drop dead gorgeous.

To be quite honest I'd prefer to lean towards 1LE handling than ZL1 power. I'd be content with NA mods to get me closer to 460-480 at the crank but what I really need is some more aggressive sways and coils. I would really like to get 6 piston calipers back and more meat on the ground.

Yeah, before i bought my zl1, i was considering the ss and the ctsv. My major concern was a lack of wheel well and tire size. I couldnt find a way to get an 11 inch wheel out back.

Plenty of options for suspension and brake upgrades though.

Congrats! I test drove one a couple of months ago and loved it, but ultimately I needed a pick up truck which was less expensive than an SS, but WAY LESS FUN! No complaints having the ZL1 and truck though.

You can get a manual trans on the 2015 SS, but not the prior years.

They are probably pretty rare, though.

I am running 285 PSS on stock rear rims.

As for 6 piston fronts.............all you need is a little spacer if you run stock SS wheels.

Thanks for the heads up on the spacers. I will note that.

But I have an update. I have been so underwhelmed with the handling of my SS in spite of all the rave reviews, I began to suspect something was wrong with my car. I looked at the coils to see if the red spacers were left in there, they weren't. I decided to check my tire pressures against the manufacturers sticker...Rebok would have been proud of the dipshit who pumped my tires in PDI. 12 LBS over pressure all around. I dropped the pressure and went for a ride. Found a nice twisty road and gave her the spurs. YEEEEHAAAAHHHH I could barely hold on. That's what I've been missing. I was late for dinner and was getting called back in by the Mrs. so I only got a taste. Tomorrow....we ride.

I'll let you all know how it goes.
