I know its just BS. But if your in a diff. state then what you live in and your required to have a front plate they can give you a ticket for no front plate.

bought mine used from Ohio so I'm stuck with one. If you have the choice to not put it on, definitely don't do it

Be careful to check local laws. The "hideaway" license plate is illegal in Texas and some other states.
Front plate is required in Texas but most LEOs won't bother you. However, if they decide to, it is a $200 fine and will not be waived by installing.

No they can't, its based on your state of residence. An out of state resident visiting IL for the day isn't required to go get a extra plate for their car.

I don't know how ours managed to get sold new in IL and then get traded off and sold used in the same state but never got the bumper drilled. I was glad to see there were no holes and sure as heck wasn't going to drill them after I got it.

I got hassled by the police 5 times about no front plate. The last LEO that stopped me it was his 2nd time that he stopped me. He told me if he seen me again he would write me a ticket and the fine would be $350! I put the front plate on and I haven't been stopped for anything since.

I did not put mine on until my wife got pulled over for no plate. We had 10 days to either put it on or pay a 151 dollar fine. And then if we got stopped again the next ticked would be over 250. I got 2 long stove bolts with wing nuts and put it on, no holes drilled. I took it off last year to have a clear bra installed and did not put it back on. There is not one mark where it was. The bracket and plate are now in the trunk and can be put back on if I am stopped.

I recommend the JacFab, gets the LEOs off your back and no drilling. Keeps the lines of the car too with it bent to match the car

I would like to not have a front plate. In NH absolutely every car has it, plus it is required in all the surrounding states, so if you don't have the front plate on it really sticks out.

The prior owner of my car didn't drill the bumper...he drilled holes in the OEM license plate bracket and zip tied it to the lower grille. It works for now, eventually I would like to get something like a Jacfab for bringing it to shows and meet ups.

I have the Bent Face plate mount from JacFab. Really great quality and looks pretty good also.
