BA system not worth it...

So I took my 2014 Camaro with 1,000 miles on it, back to the dealer for a repaint of the Hood, trunk, fenders.... and probably the roof. It had pitting from Shipping that they noticed and said they'd fix, when I bought it with only 6 miles on it, about a month or so ago.....

BUT ANYWAYS...... I got a loner 2013 Chevy Cruze with, what looks like, the base stereo. It sounds as good as my Camaro's BA system that people pay extra for! You know... if I wouldn't have gotten my RS for $30,000 out the door, I'd be pissed! I put in an amp now, and a single 10" sub. Going to be pulling the 6.5's out and replacing with some Alpines, and the 6x9's will be going as soon as I get up the guys to rip my baby apart completely.

So anyways... point of the post.... Don't pay extra for the BA system. Tell them it's crap, and you want the price knocked off!

Oh... and the Cruze is a Piece of junk... Talk about a car that can't go... maybe I am just used to my old GT Eclipse and the Camaro... but d@mn that car has no power.

There are benefits to having the BA system.

It saved a lot of re wire work when I installed aftermarket components.

Of course, not everyone cares about the sounds of the tunes but rather the sound of the engine.

yep wiring is the most important part of the system, one less thing you have to do if you don't have the BA system installed. speakers and amp should be a whole level better IMO.

To your point about the Cruze having no go...I test drove it before test driving my Camaro since it was a newer version of the 2008 Cobalt I had and was dissapointed. The Cobalt (previous version of same car) had much more pickup and more responsive.

I thought it was pretty crappy too until I installed a separate amp+sub and have the speakers pushing mids and highs only now. Sound improved! Now im gonna try disconnecting that middle speaker to see if I can further improve it..

BUT like camaroshark mentioned it does already have all the wiring done so upgrading to a better amp with the fark harness and aftermarket speakers will be super easy in the future!

Using the FARK harness kit and an aftermarket amp, the center channel no longer works so there is nothing to disconnect.

I dont got the full fark just yet.. I got only the sub harness to lead into the amp for the sub. so my center speaker is still connected at the moment... I was gonna manually disconnect it but the full fark will do that for me later your right much easier that way too
