GM and Leno have a business history, it's win win for them both.

^..that ain't gonna happen, but, what I wish that will happen is that the Z/28 is 5K more over base price of the ZL1...we'll see soon...north of 56,5K was mentioned...

I think he probably made such a point to tell us that the parts will be available at the dealers so we don't get angry when the car costs $70k

I think it's more due to the lack of availability of the car.

OH MY GOD he did not rev to 7000 and drop the clutch at the end

LOL GM told LENO don't you DARE drop the clutch on this car and screw it up.

I would have said the same thing.

HE CAN DROP THE CLUTCH on his OWN CARS and burn the tires into shreds.

He thinks it is okay to do that to cars that aren't his.

That's why I think he is kind of low class.

I wondered if he even asks permission to trash out cars that aren't his.

It does not matter that he can buy another Z28.

GM probably uses that Z28 for display purposes and as a show car.

They do not feel like disassembling the rear end and installing NEW tires JUST so LENO can DRIVE THE CAR like a 15 year old.

YAY for GM. Someone FINALLY ASKED HIM to act NORMAL for one SINGLE TIME while driving a car.

The hate for Leno in this thread is quite sad. That guy does more for the car world than the bulk of the people on this forum combined. Might look into it a little before you bash the guy. Better yet maybe you should meet the man.

Jay Leno is a true car enthusiast , he loves American cars with a passion! In all his car reviews he never once put down an American car and he's always praised GM and Ford for producing great cars at a reasonable price. I believe he was the first to drive the Z28 because of his loyalty to the American car industry especially GM cars.

....agreed, Leno is a real car guy, a mechanic, and one who appreciates automobiles in all forms. Plus, he is a stand up guy <not to mention a stand up comedian>

Watching the video I got the feeling that Jay really wasn't all that impressed, maybe it was just me though.

That was Jay's understated, controlled demeanour. He's not a keyed-up excitable guy when it comes to doing his auto-related videos. No cartwheels present...
