LOL, everybody knows we are talking about the unibody. Yes, it can be straightened and no, it will never be as strong as before.

Like was said, if the cost of repairs is more than the value of the car, then yes it will be a total. I know you don’t want to hear that but that’s the way Insurance companies operate. I would wait until the claims adjustor looks at it and go from there. Good luck and you could get a new Camaro to replace that one. At least the Camaro is still in production for maybe a couple more years.

I would say thats about 7k $ in repairs without knowing if the Convertible bracing/action parts are damaged.....

Didn’t seem like it. When anyone says frame regarding a vehicle that has no frame, it comes across like people don’t know there is no frame.

As far as I know …no automobile has had a body on frame for ~10 years.

I’ve said I did a frame off on a gen2 F-body implying the front sub. I had someone call me out, like you, when I obviously knew.

Come on, now you're trolling a wee bit

Everyone in this thread is talking about the structure below, even if the term "frame" is incorrect—although now that no body on frame cars are made anymore, we might as well repurpose it

I call them subframes because that’s what they are.

Verts have steel in slightly different places vs. coupes. With no A or B pillars, nor steel roof, there is extra steel under the rockers and behind the back seats to support the top and add chassis stiffness. The part of the OP's car that got hit is surprisingly tough and well supported underneath.

That said... the important question for the OP becomes:

Does the top still fit properly? Driver side rear window may not be operable due to the collapsed panel, but does it still seal to the top properly? If it does and you don't have significant deformation of the back seat support and steel that supports tonneau and top (visible if you partly operate the top), then you're likely in it for <$10k in mostly fender inner/outer work. If the windows won't drop due to interference then you probably cannot raise the tonneau to see unless you pull the fuse for the driver rear window motor. And I have no idea if there are interlocks... ...gonna be a fun one to fix. Might have to pull that dent out before operating the DR window.

No automobile? Maybe no cars. Pickups and a handful of SUVs are still BOF.

It’s a 20,000 dollar car all day long not crashed. I don’t see an insurance company putting over 10k in it.
