Opinion - is it totaled?

Got in an accident. Looks like the drivers rear wheel may be bent.Tow truck driver said it didnt look like the frame was bent. Id rather fix & keep it.

If the frame isn't bent it may not be totaled, still gonna be an expensive repair though, hopefully insurance doesn't give you a hard time. Good luck, I hope you're back in a Camaro soon either way.

Because of the high value of your Camaro, I'll go out on a limb and say it is likely not totaled. Problem is, the car will never be the same after repair because I can see in the photo that the wheel/suspension/frame was compromised. If the accident was the other parties fault, I would file for diminished value on their insurance.

If the frame is confirmed to be compromised, I would press the adjuster to total the car for safety reasons regardless of the monetary value of the repair. A straightened frame is never as strong as the original. Some insurance companies will fudge on this.

Anything can be fixed. How much it costs to repair compared to buying new determines if it's totaled or not. Used car and new car prices are at all time highs. Don't settle cheap for a total settlement, and don't let a high repair bill keep it from being fixed. Replacing it won't be easy these days. Good luck.

No, I'd be surprised if insurance totaled that.

IMO this is a bit pessimistic based on one photo, it may be fixable by a capable body shop, the damage doesn't look very extensive. A professional needs to go through the entire car and make a determination.

S**t happens, nobody's perfect. I crashed mine in 2019 out of my own stupidity of not focusing for about two seconds, and the body shop took 2 full months to repair everything (and this was the "pre-pandemic era" with great parts availability). They ended up doing a fantastic job, the car now tracks better than new, and the only telltale sign is the presence of clearcoat on the new OEM underhood metal parts (go figure, the factory paint job has no clear on these).

That's really high for a 2016, but I still doubt it is totaled. Put all your cars info in kbb.com and see what it says. I bet that repair is under $20,000, if your car's value is at least 20% over that, I think you are good.

You may have to fly and drive home or have one shipped, but you'll have no issue finding a used HBM Camaro.
