I don't have any use for "Apps" on my car - especially if the screen becomes a stripped down screen mirror of my phone. The less "software" in the car, the better the experience - especially since the GM Software Engineers produce such garbage. |

It's mostly the cost of delivering those updates, maintaining update servers and having the bandwidth to deliver those updates that hinders manufacturers. If manufacturers figured there was a profit to be made, they'd jump all over it. Just integrating Apple or Google tech, that's going to cost them with licensing. I still like the idea of removing the head unit and just having a flat area where tablets or phones can be mounted. Imagine your cell phone just plugging into a flat area on the dash and it being your head-unit, navigation, media player. Not sure what's holding up manufacturers, but I guess it's probably licensing and liability (don't want a driver watching a movie while the car is moving). |

That's because it doesn't have them.....(my '22 ZL1 at least)
With no PDR, it has "forward COLLISION warning / alert" which just beeps and throws a message on the DIC when you're about to run into a parked semi......

I wasn't implying anything otherwise, just that my navigation map is all sorts of wrong most of the time. I only really use it to read street names which it is better than AA at doing.

I'll edit it to it's 100% coming from the car's Nav database! The accuracy of the OEM databases is another story! I don't use it at all, and all three of our cars have GM Nav systems. I bet most people get the OEM Nav option because it just comes with the premium sound systems, which is what they really want.

I wasn't aware that the feature that locks the door automatically after you exit the vehicle with the key fob in your pocket. I literally had it parked at a few locations with the doors unlocked for extended periods. When I got to vehicle, using the unlock button would lock the doors. I need to turn that feature off as I don't like wondering if my doors are locked. I prefer locking them myself.
