Never been in 2002 M5, but here is what I can compare it to.
My C6 has Bilstein shock and they are pretty stiff. (I'm quite positive it would be stiffer than M5's stock shocks) Comparing that to C7's stiffest setup, it felt very close at hard cornering, but still feels little more comfortable over the bumps.
Advantage on MRC is, you don't have to go over bumps in that setup when you don't want to...

Agreed. Get it and don't look back. The 5th gen ZL1 has the third generation MRC and it's worth it. They tweaked it for the 6th gen and you can bet it will be on the next Z car.

No.

No need really for ride quality.

You can add lower springs from the aftermarket gang.

Bumping this, I want to order very soon.
NEVER have had MRC. I just want the suspension to be stiff and sporty. I'm not concerned with the bumps in the road. Is a non MRC camaro suspension as stiff/sporty as a MRC one?
Seems like it's amazing for changing it for unforgiving roads but not really my concern with $$$ being tight. Also probably will be easier / available earlier to put on the chevy performance lowering kit (thought I saw that floating around on here) on when that's available? Thanks guys.

Sounds like you will be better off without MRC. The non MRC suspension will ride stiff/sporty, probably even more so then with MRC as MRC is there to make the ride more comfortable on the road, which it seems is not a concern to you.

If you don't care about being able to go from track stiff to touring comfy, then you don't care about MRC.

It's really for people who want a "one size fits all" suspension. Touring when cruising the backroads / highways; track when they're racing; sport for blasting down their favorite twisties / onramps.

I do believe I read that the standard SS suspension fits in between "Sport" and "Track" on the MRC.

Here in Texas we have shifting soil which makes bad roads. I would definitely get MRC.

Im on the fence. I think mag ride is worth it but i want the height adjustability of coilovers to dial in the perfect stance. Most lowering springs leave the car with a raked look and i want a level stance. Also while it is unlikely lowering springs will be an issue for mag ride, i have read at the limits they can be. Pdaft made a mag ride coilover conversion kit for the zl1 which would be perfect for what i want but not sure if the will exist for the 2ss.

I was going to get it, but the more I think about I really don't care about it.
I will probably only put 4000 miles a year on the car so I'm sure I will be good without it.

To each his own, just keep on mind you could easily spend more than 1800 on suspension upgrades later.
