The 1LS & 2LS made up a big chunk of sales in the past but are no longer available. For the small group of us Camaro lovers, for $40k you could get a 2015 base 1SS/1LE and install ZL1 rocker, intake, headers, exhaust, and tune. This would make most as happy as a pig in poo!!!
I just bough my 15 1LE 2 weeks ago. Brand new with 2SS/RS and dual mode exhaust was right at $39,000

I definitely agree on the value stand point. There is always going to be people who like or dislike a design. I was in at the dealership and just thought to myself, I am glad I bought when I did because they are getting more expensive... Although I really like the performance numbers.

I went to a 2015 Charger over the 2016 Camaro.. they shrunk the car down too much it just seemed a bit too small for me, seems much smaller than the 5th gen as well.

Is it possible people are waiting until year 2 for bugs (real or imagined) to be worked out? Kind of like 2010 Camaros that needed work.

My local dealer has a few on the lot. I still have yet to see one "in the wild". I see more C7 than anything.

You can get a brand new 2015 1LS for $19,590. Sure, it is the base model, but it is a brand new Camaro with a 100,000 mile warranty in black for under 20 grand. THAT is an incredibly cool starter car for a college grad priced on par with a Civic. If you give a 20-something a choice between a brand new Camaro with a 100,000 mile warranty or a Civic with a 36,000 mile warranty for around the same price, very few folks are going to pick the Civic. The 5th Gen had the perfect combination of power, fuel economy and affordability with great looks. You cannot get a cooler car with that kind of warranty and economy for that price. And the back seats and trunk size was just generous enough that it had some utility. It is a viable daily driver.

That is why they sold so well. The Camaro became a viable economy car for the general public. So many people saw the price tag and went...what the hell, let's live a little! We can afford it. Most Camaros I see on the road are V6's driven by folks in their 40's, a lot of them women. That's gone, baby. Gone.

Bingo!

But I have a problem spending $4k more for what I got in 2013. I have no argument that you get a lot more, but still is right at my threshold.

May try to wait for the 17s, may not be cheaper, but I may give in to temptation by then.
Well people wanted a car built in good ol' US of A... Down side is it's more expensive now to built...

It's was the worst timing for GM to shift production down south of the border, with the Canadian $ being at and all time low, they could off built almost 2 cars for the price of 1 right now.

I know what you are trying to say but in this case its not true. Its being built in the caddy plant in Lansing, plant was already there, just a retool and more labor, Shared lines just like shared platforms are a BIG savings, don't let GM kid you!!
