Looking to pick a braille battery but can't seem to find the part # for these cars...anybody have the right part # and the # for the mounting kit???

Apex has the perfect battery. You can use either styrofoam (the insulation type that is blue and dense) or wood. The styrofoam is the easiest to work with and this is a simple project that saves you 23 pounds of unwanted weight.
