Parking car in winter

First, I apologize if this has been posted before. I have had muscle cars for many years and I typically do not drive the car in winter. Basically, I change the oil and then park my car I my garage. I start it once a week for at least 30 minutes and drive it down my driveway (when no snow). Then, I park the car in the garage for another week and repeat the same procedure. I have never had a problem with this, do you see any issues or concerns I should have relative to the 2016 2SS?

Thanks!

Brian

I think that's too much work. Just invest in a Battery Tender Jr. to keep he battery topped off via a slow "trickle" charge. There are contact points in the engine bay for power and ground. Attach the leads to these and run the wires down through through the floor and then plug the included A/C adapter into a wall outlet all winter. Beyond this, I don't think you really need to do much assuming your winter is typically 3-4 months. You also don't really need to replace your oil any earlier than when the oil life indicator screen in the dashboard indicates it's time.

The reason I drive it is to simply charge the battery and eliminate potential tire issues. I don't know if this is a concern with the run-flats. Thanks!

Mine sets all winter long. I may start it up every couple weeks and let it run for 30 minutes or so. Been doing that since I bought my 2010 Camaro back in 09. I've had no issues with doing it that way.

The following two tools will take care of everything from the comfort of your garage:

https://www.amazon.com/Accutire-MS-4...dp/B00080QHMM/

https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tende...dp/B000CITK8S/

Total cost: $37. Well worth it. You eliminate the risk of the battery running flat, and the pressure gauge gives you a reading within 0.5 PSI in under a second. I use both of these pretty often.

Here is a great deal on a much better marine grade trickle charger maintainer:
