Come on people. This is the next Gen NASCAR Camaro, not a 7th gen ZL1 Camaro. Click bait titles and key words in the articles for the sake of clicks...

I think everyone is missing something bigger here.
Wasn't the 2023 MY rumored to be the last for the Camaro? Doesn't NASCAR have a rule that the car representing the manufacturer must be a production car? So does this mean the Camaro will be produced beyond 2023 or will Chevy exit NASCAR at the end of the 2023 season or will a different nameplate represent Chevy in 2024? I can't imagine making all these design changes for a two-year run, but I could be wrong. Here's some more thoughts on the subject. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/05...-as-it-exists/

The link has nothing to do with a Gen7 Camaro and everything to do with the new generation NASCAR Cup car. Beyond the obvious massaging to make it a NASCAR Cup car, there is barely a visual difference from the current generation production car attributes (nose, tail). Quote:
I don't think so. GM Authority has become such a click bait whore I don't even follow it anymore. ...."Chevy Looking Forward To Racing Camaro In NASCAR ‘As Long As It Exists" Well no shit. Of course it is. What else would they put out there? haha The NASCAR "Next Gen" car was to be introduced for this current season, but was postponed because of the Kung Flu. So it would have been essentially a 3 year run. The new NASCAR racecar has composite body panels, this will make body design changes easier (and probably cheaper) to accomplish. A few years before another body change won't be that big of a deal. Plus, the way NASCAR teams cut up and massage bodies so much in the search of aero improvements, it all becomes a moot point. The 2023 rumor is just that, a rumor. People get up in arms about such loose ended comments that the manufacturer's make. They do not comment on future products. Remember when the Gen5 Z/28 came out? Nobody saw that coming at all. The fact that that the new NASCAR Cup car looks more like the current production car, how can anyone look at it with a straight face and say it is a sign of the Gen7

who knows?maybe the next gen camaro will be a mid engine EV that smokes everything else chevy ever made...you figure the weight distribution would be ideal, and minimal cooling vents would be needed.with no spark plugs/water pump/radiator access needed the car could be a jaw dropper.
