Oh yea... I still need to get the MTs on and give it a go... but it sure was fun to drive, low 80s and still very responsive;o).
I swear, I go out for a drive, and some dope in a truck rides my butt to race, one quick stomp, get a bit of distance, I get over into another lane as I don't need them to rear end me (and I don't like street racing). It's over quick and they stop doing the bumper dance... Dumb idiots.... Still, the car is gone like lighting ;o) -Don

Haha that is funny for some reason it is always the guys in trucks trying to mess with me too it never makes sense and always just laugh and let them rev as loud as they want. I don't mind a good 0 to 60 race now and then but it takes a good bit of Pedaling to keep traction.
Hoping to get to the drag strip in the next couple weeks to see how she does.

Finished my registration for NCM track day (how did I miss the email?). Signed up for the Novice 2 group since I've been to NCM. Got the tech sheet, pretty much know all of those items are in proper order (except the trim rings and hub caps ;o)
Took the car out last night -- very please with the performance, scary quick ;o)... -Don

JMS PowerMax FanMax V2
Looking into a way to improve fan CFM -- in the old days, we would 'boost' voltage to the fan. Looks like PowerMax has one:
Ordered it, and will be experimenting to see how it performs. Will be interesting to see how it handles 'idle' cooling and if it is effective or not... JMS are excellent products, so don't doubt it will be a solid one... -Don

Are you having Idle heat issues?
I know mine will get to 205-210 pretty quick but once the fans kick on it comes right back down rather rapid. Also if I turn on my HX fans... it will maintain about 194-196..... curious what to be ready for if I turn up boost. I am 50/50 mix atm.

No, this is just to see if it helps cool faster by upping the speed of the fans. I did this in the past, and it can make a 10 to 20 degree difference, so, I'm trying it as an experiment!
The booster is not cheap, but worth trying... -Don

Hey Don,
Was just taking a look through your thread to see if you had gotten any more time on the car with our cooler. I'm glad you're liking it and it's working out well for you! Thanks again for all of the support, -Steve |

Yep, it's working good so far! When I do NCM, I'll see how all the coolers work then -- or when we get over a 'hunerd' here 'o)

Well, spent a week in San Francisco (work), just got back, and had to take her out. Running great! Really pleased with everything so far. When time allows, I'll do my air box and PowerMax... just finding the time now is the issue...

So, took the car out the last couple of days testing the new catch can hose routing, and, its working like it should! The Mini Mishimoto clean side is working perfectly, the intake and lower Supercharger manifold is oil free! No oil up to the sight glass on the Might Mouse yet, so that is perfect (venting the boost when needed and I only have about 1500 miles on this oil change).
It been over 90° here so temps are well within range -- I want to see what adding an air box does and then compare, but 18° to 24° over IAT is the range I'm seeing -- not bad for adding 4 PSI! (@ 6 PSI I was 14° to 18°). Trans temps, oil temps, coolant temps are excellent! This weekend I'll be installing the PowerMax FanMax to test it out -- we'll see how those work since the fans come on around 195°-199°. Fest is less than 30 days away! Looking forward to NCM... -Don

Even with my new master cylinder cap, small amount of weeping so installed this 'thicker' cap seal:
Got it here... seals much better... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Every little bit helps! Still waiting for time to do the air dam... schedule is crazy... -Don

Hi Don,
Great build. I took away a lot good info from your build. Getting one of the spark plug helpers too. :-) How are you getting the oil temperature reading? Did you install a separate sensor or is it from the ECU? If it was the ECU, does it match the DIC? Thanks, Grant |
