Can't report two models as one... Different nameplates.

Ford probably still wins. There fleet sales are huge. Im a die hard GM guy but if your only concern is a strong long running work truck Ford was the top for most of my life.

GM execs are probably fine with selling more cars and trucks each year though than FoMoCo.

It varies year to year. Some years F-series comes out on top, some years Silverado/Sierra sell more.

I hear that chevy will adopt the aluminum construction similar to Ford. Maybe it'l jump GM truck sale?

I don't see GM using aluminum as extensively as Ford. I'm thinking high-use bed areas will still be high strength steel welded to aluminum body panels. They'll probably leverage what they know from CT6 manufacturing to do so. GM doesn't need the weight reduction characteristics of aluminum as badly as Ford did.

This is just based off of how much GM's been poking at Ford for their aluminum beds though. If the T1XX bed is all aluminum then they deserve all the egg on their face they're going to get.

I'm going to say that GM will do a better job at using the materials smartly.. Look at comparisons of loaded vehicles.. The F150 and Silverado weigh almost the same.. Lol.

Agreed, my 2015 Silverado with the 5.3 gets better fuel mileage than my father in laws 2015 Ecoboost F150.

The ecoboost motors require feathering if you want to meet their stated MPG's. It's boring though. I've got the 2.0 Ecoboost in my current vehicle and while I can easily match their numbers, I have to make sure this thing shifts at like 2000 rpm. Hard to do when this thing pulls the way it does.

I'm not sure what Ford was doing before the current gen. I still remember looking up the curb weights of the F-series vs the Silverado and I was shocked at the difference.

I had the 2.7L EcoBoost in an F-150 loaner a while back and had the same results. Great FE numbers driving like a grandma, but getting into the boost at all killed it.

Ram owner here and couldn't be happier with it, I really enjoy my 8 speed and 5.7 hemi. Like as others have said already you can't really go wrong with any of the 3 now a days.

I think Focus is currently the best selling vehicle in the world.
