The math says 3054lbs "dry".
The 3.5EB weight 417lbs "dry" and 450lbs dressed. Ford Performance director Dave Pericak states that adding vital fluids, minus fuel, brings the GT's weight up to 3173 lbs. It carries a 15.2 gallon fuel tank, gasoline weight 6lbs per gallon, when full that would add 91.2lbs. "Total" curb weight comes to 3264.2lbs. However US curb weights are typically given when the vehicle is measured at "nominal" fuel levels, so measured as 1/2 capacity that brings us to 3218.6lbs. http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...ght-top-speed/

Did the math last night.. Weighs almost 300 pounds more than McLaren.
US curb weights are with a a full tank of gas. |

Yeah but its faster than a 675LT and a Ferrari 458 Speciale around their test rack.
Edit: Ford is also saying the 675LT was only 90 lbs lighter dry, when weighed on the same scales at the same time. http://www.autoblog.com/2017/01/25/f...mclaren-675lt/ |

So they really won't care about going over the GT power level lol
The car looks good, I can't stand how the racecar sounds though so hopefully the road car sounds better.

So a last gen Ferrari? The "regular" 488 GTB is quicker than the 458 Speciale on track, and the track focused version of that is due out next year. Not impressed...

I know, Ford, those fools, not using the time machine we all know they have to baseline a car that debuted 2 months after theirs. How dare they baseline a supercar that was current and available at the time.

At the end of the day it's still a Ford....and a Ford that costs $400,000.
Purchase a new 2017 Corvette Z06 and add the Hennessey HPE 800 package with a 24 month warranty for another $17,000. Then invest the remaining $280,000. Or purchase another new Z06 for the wife and still have $180,000+ left over |

Based on numbers, it's another overhyped Ford product. Add it to the list along with the Focus RS and Mustang.. I do like how all of the cars look at least.. The Ford GT is absolutely gorgeous. They just seem to talk about how it will perform, how much it'll weigh, etc. etc., then they don't seem to hit those targets. You can add the F150 to the list as well probably. While I like my truck, the aluminum thing was overhyped. Look at the tests. It barely weighs any less than the Silverado. |

I'm beginning to think your expectations of this car were way over the top. You were clearly expecting a brute force axe murderer of a car. Nothing that i ever read on this car gave me that impression. |

Take the first generation of the competitors model you're benchmarking against and lay out its specs. Then do the same thing for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. Take those data points and make a trend line to predict what the next generation is probably going to be like. Repeat with other competitors to get a more reliable picture of where the segment is heading. It won't be exact, but it will give you an extremely good target. Much better than assuming that nothing will ever be better than whats currently available.
