Hope Chevy ups the HP game seeing that the Camaro SS is somewhat more expensive....

It's obvious what market they're targeting with this..since it looks even more Euro than it did before.

Not sure how I feel on it..it's got some really awkward shapes and such based on the angles seen so far. The all digital dash is really nice especially since it means it's very configurable.

A full point boost in compression and presumably cam changes to maximize that should mean for about 465 HP and 420 TQ..that combined with the A10 should make for a very quick Mustang.

God these things get uglier every year lol... Looks like a little European sports car. Far cry from what the Mustang once was.

Official pics look better but I'm more interested in what the DI/PI and higher redline will do for power and torque.

Took the liberty of putting a 15-17 Mustang and the new 2018 side-by-side. Granted the lighting is a little different, but you can see that many parts are the same.

In fact, here's what I can tell that they changed:

- hood
- front bumper
- fog lights
- headlights

Beyond that, I don't see any other changed, cosmetically. Of course, there are the other changes that you can't see (suspension, power, trans, interior).

Also looks like they finally upgraded the tires on at least the PP. They're running MPSS. Can also finally get the PP on the automatic.

Well..

If they keep the CMCV based intake manifold with the DI/PI..it should improve low end torque considerably, probably to the tune of 20+ foot pounds.

Before and after, the Mustang is a pretty car. The styling has broader appeal than a Camaro. A more interesting question is had Ford done anything to close the performance gap with the SS.

I see you are a "Mustang Fanboy", but come on now. Not sure if you saw my other posts, but I currently own a '15 GT as well as a '17 SS. I like both cars, but the torque difference in both cars, especially at lower revs is VERY noticeable. Even my wife can tell...gearing does NOT fully make up for the lack of torque, not even close.
The torque difference can be felt with daily driving, yes. When you are looking for performance, the only torque that matters is what is multiplied through the drivetrain to the road, and how effective the gearing is to maintain within that powerband.

A bit more info...

Performance Notes:
The GT Performance Pack with MagneRide should be faster than the 2012-2013 Mustang Boss 302.

The manual transmission for both engine options has been upgraded for optimal torque. For the V8, the manual transmission has been totally redesigned to include a twin-disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel to increase torque capability and deliver more efficient clutch modulation.

Improved Performance: Powerful engine upgrades, plus an all-new available 10-speed automatic transmission give Mustang even more performance, while available MagneRide™ suspension offers optimum handling; optional active valve exhaust affords complete auditory control – let the engine roar, or not

GT Performance Package receives Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires

Looks good in grey and blue IMO. Ah, so I was right about the GT350 hood. I remember Ford saying that it noticeably improved aero.

MRC, higher redline with more power, better clutch/flywheel, digital gauges... seems like a good upgrade. I wonder how it'll fare against our favorite muscle car now
