8L90 8 Speed Transmission Breakdown?

Has any site done this yet?

I saw a performance mode tracker. But no actual YT videos showing the transmission in detail or even in overview.

I did find this by digging into these forums: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...0+transmission Great read from "ORANGE U NV" who found the documents around the 8L90 and it being in the Corvette.

What exactly are you looking to find?

I did find this on the 8L45. It has some info about the 8L90 too.

I see so many videos of old men breaking down transmissions. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this for the 8L90 yet

Ah haven't seen any but did find this. Not a video, but a very technical breakdown of the trans.

hmm, perhaps thatīs the reason why i cant see the 8speed automatic on our german Chevy page ? only manuals to choose..... perhaps the delete it due to our fast autobahn driving ? heat problems ? http://www.chevrolet.de/modelle/corvette/konfigurieren/

Doubt that, there is a big difference between tracking a car and driving fast on a highway, the latter help's with cooling more then stop and go traffic anyway so that doesn't make any sense.

Do the 2016 Camaro arrive in europe in 2017 ?

Can you get the auto in Corvette? Could be an error on the website.

This transmission overheats sometimes in base and Z51 C7s.

Probably another reason why the new Camaro has so many radiators!

The 8speed had several issues with it when it was debuted. I believe there are 2-3 TSBs out for it.

Kinks to work out, you know?

I think by the time its released in the 6th Gen the kinks will be worked out. Vette has done the R&D for it. I have heard all Z51 vettes 2016+ are getting the Z06 cooler as well. GM has a habit of undercooling its automatics. Been that way for ever.

When tracked the c7s ran hit after several laps when it was hot out. They upgraded the cooling going forward. There were also some software tweaks, but this is typical.

I'm sure there will be a few software updates on the gen6 too, nothing out of the norm.

Dropped off my 2013 today for a whine & rub in the steering column. They had a C7 auto in there with the tranny and torque tube dropped to remove the flywheel. Not all the teeth on it were correct, causing problems with the starter. One tranny specialist in the service department and he has been busy with C7 auto's for a couple months. Hoping these causes have been worked out in the 2016 Camaro. The same thing could happen to the 8L45 if people run it hard as well -- and it doesn't have the additional coolers out of the box.
