Question
What do you all think of the C8 Vettes. I know this is a Camaro forum but I like all vehicles. I am a GM person.
So good so far but all want the manual in it. My take is if it a auto forget it for now. I am still in on one but just have to wait until bugs are out of it. Manual or Auto is all good for me. Thanks all for the replies. Last edited by Hell Raiser; 05-16-2020 at 09:51 AM. Reason: Adding |

I’ve got a convertible on order. No idea when it will get built. Keeping my Camaro, though.

I like it. Dropped out on my C8 order for a ZL1. Will maybe pick up a C8Z in a few years.

Very impressed with the performance but I lean toward muscle car styling and much prefer my ZL1. The look of the base Vette and no manual transmission turned me off from the getgo. I’m sure the Z06 and up will be performance beasts and sweet looking but not for me. Still good to see it’s success to this point.

I like it, but the lack of a manual means I will most likely never own one.
Let's face it, a car like our ZL1s and Corvettes are a toy. Not a necessity. Since this is not my daily driver for the most part, I consider it a toy. And, my toy must be a manual. Unless they find a way to put a manual in the C8, my next toy just may be a porsche. Oh well...

I like the look of the C8 quite a bit. I had deposit in on a C8 but decided that I did not want to buy a fun car without a manual transmission. I bought a 19 Z06 M7 instead to keep the ZL1 company.

I would like it in a Z06 or ZR1 with a manual trans. No manual, no buy for me.

I like it. Cancelled my C8 order in February. I was tired of all the BS with the wait and the factory closures. The ZL1 won out on a lot of areas:
Easier to get in and out of Less noticeable on the street, most people have no idea how fast the ZL1 is. Love the sleeper effect Z is slightly higher meaning its easier to drive on our gravel driveway Z was ALOT cheaper when they have the same basic options, mainly MRC. Just couldn't wrap my head around buying a first year model. Especially with the new DCT Trunk and back seat come in very handy I owned 4 Corvettes prior and might at some point buy another. But my plans are to keep the Z for now. More importantly, I do not have any regrets.

When I heard they were going this way (M.E.), the first thought in my mind was yes sacrilege.
I was proud of what GM had done in competing with the super cars while maintaining the very American FE big a$$ V8 philosophy. Watching the documentaries where team Corvette would have team Ferrari in tantrums over what they classified as an antiquated design made me giddy. Going this way and attempting to hit the competition at their own game will imo serve to water down the Corvette potency. Don’t get me wrong, I like advancement and yes I can hear the great car for the price argument, but it always was; and it was obstinately American. I’d rather own a low km C7 ZO6. Just my $0.02. Also the back end on the new C8 looks like crap imo.

The previous comment about first year GM cars was a consideration. The ZLE alignment frequency is annoying but not unexpected for 650HP. I'll look at the C8 again in a couple years. |

I really like it. As with all Muscle/Sports cars, I prefer to wait for the "enthusiast"/ performance models as I like the more aggressiveness of them. Excited to see how the C8-Z06, Grand Sport and ZR1 (or what ever new models come out) look and perform.

I would take one just as it’s made. I love the DCT, I‘ll never own a stick again in my life.
