200 Miles of Bliss!

We went on a 200 mile road trip yesterday in Top Gun, what a awesome car! Over 30 mpg now with the toe setup right and if I didn't know it I'd say the car has WINGS! YES wings car is amazing! we passed EVERYTHING including the gas stations.

Makes me laugh about these V8 guys thinking their 25-26 mpg hero runs on the highway are something to be proud about. Heck, I can achieve almost that just driving gently in the city.

I never got to experience the bliss that is 30+mpg in this car, but I don't take the freeways. Enjoy that 30+mpg brother!

Ain't it great to have a beautiful looking car with lots of power that gets great MPG. Blissful indeed!

Yeah, I really miss my V6. Not!

But I’m happy if you’re happy. I guess I’d be happy if you weren’t happy too.

That's okay. I'll rather take an engine that sounds like a million dollar Ferrari than a sickly farting sound when the AFM activates on a sluggish V8.

No kidding .. all the OP did was express his enjoyment during a road trip and three posts later it's turned into another V6 -vs- V8 thread

Glad you had a blast.
Isn't it nice to drive a car without the AFM boning you out of the blue?

But last week you hated it and were gonna get an older car you could work on?

I see the Housewives Of Camaro5 are out in full force today bringing the drama. Just opened a new bottle of Makers so let the games begin.

Yep my thoughts exactly. Us oil and gas guys won’t starve tonight because of your 30+ mpg don’t worry.

I have a 2014 2LT/RS that I have made 4 trips now that all were in the 1,500 mile range. This very day driving into DDs for a Sunday morning bull session I as talking to my Camaro as I sometimes do. Still so proud to not only own her but also to drive her. She has grown on me for sure. I also own a 1996 Impala SS that has just under 10K on a full body off restoration. From the factory the LT1 only put out 260 HP. I have a six speed in my Impala and average about 20mpg on the highway, not like my Camaro.

Now that I figured out you gotta use premium in this car it is complete pleasure to drive. It responds like a sports car should. I'm going to scope the valves today to see if there is any kind of serious build up of carbon. Its hard to believe it runs that well, the car truly impresses me and trust me I'm a fussy SOB when it comes to cars. Who ever tuned this thing must of spent a ton of time on it. We DON"T drive for fuel mileage in any way and it still gets 25-27 local! Its crazy!

Only thing missing is the twin turbos and lots of power. I had a v6 impala it got 30 mpg but it didn't sound like Ferrari.
