This is one course / test & would LOVE to see what my personal times would be driving both.

We all really win in the end & the adolescence banter starts over a transmission?? This is the one thing on this sight that sticks in my craw, because it deflects the positive attributes of this car & makes the train take a dirt road.

Man, there is a dedicated manual vs auto thread somewhere else I'm sure...please don't crap up this bad ass vid with nonsense.

Both options are simply fabulous. This video was littered with praise and excitement. Let's enjoy that, shall we?
For goodness sake.

+1 so tired of hearing the same old nonsense about which ones better. The chicken or the egg.

Thumbs up

Completely amazing, I don't have any words to describe it. It begins mentioning how great it's the SS 1LE and then it shows a ZL1 10A Vs ZL1 6 speed manual. On the video the manual transmission Zl1 won, but on the magazine they clocked the A10 after adjusting tire's psi's per Randy's suggestion and it was faster at the track compared to the manual one. I was seeing the speed of both cars on the curves and straights and they were really really close one to the other, and at the end they mentioned that it was even faster compared to his big brother the Corvette Grand Sport and that the ZL1 felt even more planted compared to the Z06 and without any cooling issues. Al O. has a winner Camaro for us. Amazing!!

Yes. It is amazing! I've watched that video several times, because it's so cool! I signed up for a free trial of Motor Trend On Demand just to watch it for the first time.

Here's one to think about, and should kill the M6/A10 quarrel....

Those times are the single BEST lap, and not the AVERAGE of say 10 or 20 laps.

With that being said, manual rules! Haha! Kidding, both are awesome and too close to call.

I didn't see any quarrel going on in this thread. Well.....other than a few quarreling over a quarrel that no one was quarreling over. Lol!

The manual was way ahead at the start, as Randy was able to carve the corners better with it, but the Auto caught up quickly at the straight, only to be passed again in the corners at the end. Awesome stuff. I know which one I want.

Manual v auto - take your pick, but Randy will still be quicker than any of us I'm betting!!

For those confused why the manual shift won - it didn't. Randy later felt like something was wrong and adjusted tire pressure and the auto ended up a couple tenths faster.

How about the fact that they said they beat on this car for 5 days with NO heat soak or overheating what so ever. Now that is very reassuring to me. I have seen a lot of people out there that say the ZL1 over heats with no proof and only because of the Z06 which has been corected. I for one would have ordered a manual if I wasn't going to have to daily drive it. It would have been a lot cheaper and I had done the same when I bought the 2012 ZL1. So I'm glad that GM has made probably the best auto out right now. There has been alot of concern about how this A10 was going to perform and as far as I can tell everyone that has driven it is very impressed. So I can't wait to get my A10 which I think is the best of both worlds when talking auto and manual.

Transmission arguments aside, we live in great times. See this retro review of the 1980-81 Camaro Z28. No great video. No great performance. 8ish something seconds 0-60, 230 something horse power. Speedometer goes up to a whole 85 MPH.

Do miss those leaky T Tops though.
