I bought my 24 Camaro back in October and it has 1k miles on it. I’ve really babied this car; it’s always garage kept and has been winterized since the beginning of December.

I’ve posted a few pictures of the paint damage from normal driving. The main damage is right behind the wheels, inside the wheel well where the body folds inside. There are also chips accumulating along the doors and rear quarter panels. I’ve never had car chip this easily and so quickly. I hate to see what it looks like as I put more miles on it.

I took some pictures to a body shop and they suggested I take it back to the dealer. They said there is a possibility I can get a warranty claim to fix the paint.

Anyone have any experience with this?

these cars throw up a lot of rocks, most people buy some sort of rock guard to help prevent it. I don't know that there is a permanent solution, PPF helps.

Having owned a 2016 with the 245 square set up I knew when I purchased my 2024 2SS 1lE with 305/285 my first trip was straight to a detailer to add PPF on the front bumper, rocker areas, pull off the factory PPF on the rocker and replace it with a full size piece and cover the rear quarter lower section. Then add rock guards and side skirts to keep stones from being thrown up from the bottom. I would suggest you get it to a reputable detailer and get the paint corrected and chips repaired then PPF, and rock guards. Those SC3 pick up a lot of gravel and stones when they get warmed up.

ACS ZL1 skirts and Rokblokz rock guards will solve most of that problem after you get the paint repaired.

Pretty typical and looks a lot like my car. As soon as I started noticing the damage (within a couple hundred miles) I added rock guards, additional PPF and this spring I'll be installing ZL1 style side skirts. As someone with extreme OCD about how my cars look, I nearly had a heart attack after seeing the damage. I felt a little better after joining the forum and realizing 99% of 1LE's have this kind of damage to some degree. BTW, PPF helps, but is not a cure all. I've got a couple of rock chips that went right through the PPF. Just come to terms with the fact that it will happen no matter what you do.

Yes, this is not a warranty repair unfortunately, it happens to every Camaro.

The solution, as others mentioned above, has several prongs: 1) proper rock guards (by now almost everyone here knows I love me some fine Rokblokz ), 2) side skirts, 3) PPF and 4) acceptance, as there is no way you can actually drive a Camaro and not have some form of minor paint damage. The clearcoat GM applies to these vehicles is extremely brittle.

When you buy an SS 1LE, expect this to happen.

Within the first 300 miles, I swapped out the goodyear SC3's, installed rock guards front and rear, PPF'ed the front end, and installed ZL1 style side skirts. That eliminated almost all rock chips.

$15 universal mud flap will stop almost all of that.

I'd rank the rock guards as #1 as arpad did, I drove my SS 1LE which had ZL1 style side skirts for 1k miles and was saddened by the rock chips I found at the end in front of the rear wheels. Once I installed my rock guards I haven't found a new chip in almost 10k miles

I also had the factory PPF but the chips were higher than the PPF reached

PPF helps a ton with the paint chips.

ACS, ZL1addons, or similar rock guards help more.

When I picked up my ZL1 for the drive home from Detroit I had painters tape all on it and had m guards on it the next day.

Point is you don't need PPF and ~$200 RokBlokz or ZL1 add ons for this purpose.

These areas of protection are definitely needed and should be Done ASAP. The rock guards don’t stick out past the tire and protect that rear of wheel sections very well.

I used ZL1 add ons rock guards, I only wish that I put the front ones on before I left the dealer. I got one chip on the lower drivers door on the way home.

You have a 1LE with super sticky tires that pick up every little rock and piece of gravel. Unfortunately, this is totally normal and why a lot of folks get PPF or splash guards.
