WHY no Nurburgring lap times yet for the ZL1???

It would seem by now that they would have SOME approximate times they are getting out of it.Or is it just too soon still since theyre still developing the suspension/ shocks, and all?

ZL1 ran it so fast, that they are checking the calibration on their test equipment to make sure it was accurate! LOL

Nurburgring

They will surely wait until they have a production car. If they ran a really fast time with a pre-production unit, it wouldn't mean anything. I see Ford is running their Boss 302 on the track as well and they're not posting times with a production car. I suspect it's too slow to brag on! Sorry, Pill!

We don't have a 'ring time for the same reason we don't have 1/4 mile time, 0-60 time, 60-0 distance, skid pad numbers, slalom numbers, final weight ...

I'm almost positive the ZL1 has seen Nurburgring track time....plenty of it too. GM knows what it does and what it's capable of. I'm guessing we won't see an official time until 2012.

Exactly. In addition to not actually having production cars that can establish these kind of numbers, it is all about marketing. Details like these will be periodically released to keep the ZL1 "buzz" alive and potential customers interested.

GM is tweaking the ZL1 some more because the upcoming GT500 has been out there and bested the ZL1's previous times already.
