SPL rear toe arms track use

So I bought these mainly to avoid the rear toe slipping over time. (Many threads on alignment bolts). However even with the ZL1 1LE suspension having less rubber in the system I felt the difference in handling.

The car has more (good thing) head toss side to side. It is just less compliant and because of that it handled differently for the better. Hitting curbs on the track was very noticeable, which changed some lines. Also good actually. Thumbs up.

I bought the rubber dust covers to keep the joints clean.

Cool. I had them on my ZL1, but haven’t upgraded yet on the ZL1 1LE.

I bet the difference in the feel is due to the bar vs the stamped metal plate as both the OE and SPL parts are fitted with spherical bearings.

The OEM arm has a small amount of rubber in the bushing. It's meaningful on the track net/net.

Did you noticed any change in how the car put the power down on center to exits?

Mid corner to corner exit less compliance steering in the rear, so steering wheel inputs more precise. On the street or track I noticed less swerve on power. Wheels spin but car tracks straighter.

I'm split 50/50 on this. In my 2021 ZL1-1LE I ran the BMR toe rods and it was more rigid in the back. Coincidentally, once I stiffened the chassis further, I had a hard time hitting my PRs back when the car was completely stock.

On my 2022 I am all stock and I've gone faster than I ever have. ...essentially, going back to stock from the rigid setup I had on my 2021.

I feel like some compliance is needed on a chassis this stiff, especially when the tires start to wear down a bit.

My opinion is there is a difference in adding toe rods and doing a full BMR suspension. The factory toe arms with eccentric bolts are horrible at maintaining toe alignment on a track car.

I don't think BMR tests or engineers their components. A full BMR setup adds weight and reduces the range of motion of the rear suspension. It might work for a drag car, but isn't ideal for the road course.

BMR doesn't produce performance components, the only thing worth buying from them is the rear toe rod, everything else is a waste of money.

I ran their cradle braces, toe rods, strut tower brace, and sway bar linkages. Definitely not junk.

It wasn't the prettiest stuff (compared to SPL) but it worked.
