2018 and 2021 ZL1 differences

Other than tail lights and rear view mirror camera, are there any other differences between the '18 and '21 ZL1's? Considering trading/selling mine for a vert.

The convertible ZL1 does not get the eLSD (it gets a regular limited slip diff), no PTM (performance traction management) and smaller anti roll bars. I think the performance data recorder isn't available for the convertible.

No homelink (garage door opener) in the 2021.

Wow. They take away a lot of good stuff from the car.

Chassis is stiff, no cowl shake and hugely capable performance.
95% + performance of the coupe. Open air driving experience is what I wanted.
Hard to fault the vert. Lots if grins.
Can't go wrong.

Correct. No PDR in the vert.

I believe that the rear stabilizer is different and the front is the standard FE4, ZL1 stabilizer bar.

The ELSD adds weight, complexity, as well as size that cannot reasonably be fit under cross bracing, so that was eliminated. Unless you’re racing, you’ll never notice not having it. The vert diff does have a heat exchanger.

The 2019 and up verts - rear view camera. The one down side is if you want to keep the camera and change the spoiler. I haven’t found a reasonable way to do this (yet).

Either way. Still a capable and fast convertible.

This is true, but according to Vengeance Racing, the stock trans tuning is just fine until about 1000HP.

That is a blanket statement at best.

Here are some examples that might help you understand why I said what I did.

If you switch to a larger camshaft which normally shifts the power curve to the right, Ideally you want to bump up the shift points to utilize the increased power range and maximize the cams potential. Also depending on camshaft selection, it may require a higher stall converter. Different power adders benefit from higher stall converters such as F1a94 prochargers which seems to be a popular option on this platform. All scenarios I have pointed out here would require transmission tuning to maximize their potential. Does that mean you have to...NO. I am sure there are packages designed to work around the parameters of the stock transmission tuning but it doesn't really have anything to do with a power number alone. There is more to going fast then a power number.
