Which Shifter?

Ok, so I want to replace my factory Hurst shifter with either a MGW, Hurst or Barton and am curious to what everyone thinks is the best. I have a friend with a Barton but don't know anyone with a Hurst or MGW. Opinions?

Forgot to add, my Camaro is a SS with a Whipple Supercharger, COM CAM, methanol injection for 785 HP at the flywheel. Thanks.

Another vote for MGW. I had a hurst for 2 years and switched to mgw. Should have just went with mgw to start with. Hurst rattles and is rougher. Mgw also feels much tighter with no slop.

Had the factory short-throw Hurst. Researched. Went with MGW. Installation was straight forward. Tighter shift gates. Like it. Also, was able to attach the old school T-handle Hurst shift "knob." Recommended.

Well boys, I like what I'm hearing and it looks like the MGW is the shifter of choice. The install video and the test ride they show really seals the deal. Thanks for all that replied.

I talked to Don about it, he didn't really want to install it in mine due to all the custom painted console. He was afraid it might get scratched. I'll probably touch base with him in a month to see if he's still weary about it. I did talk to the boys at NE Tire in Attleboro (they installed a lot of stuff for me) and they new exactly how to install the MGW, so we'll see.

How do you like the MGW? I've nothing but good things about it.

MGW is a nice piece. Installed that and their Race Knob to replace the OEM regular stock shifter and it was an improvement. That said, I later pulled the MGW out to install a pre-owned GM Hurst. The GM Hurst is quieter than MGW and still works great.

In my case, the MGW solved a problem I just did not have. Sold the MGW for close to what I had in it. The MGW Race Knob is absolutely necessary in my opinion and it fits perfectly on the factory GM Hurst shifter. Best setup for me. Your results may vary.
