Want to trade my 2SS for 2LT

I plan to trade my 2SS for an 2Lt but i have a problem. the 2LT has an aftermarket CAI and im VERY paranoid about aftermarket parts i like a car to be stock when im buying it. my concern is i noticed they removed the OEM cover GM puts over the CAI so i dont know can engine get damaged heres a picture from dealers website. what do you guys think?

That is completely normal for a aftermarket I take and totally safe.

You will be fine

Why are you trading a 2SS for a 2LT?

most people trade in their v6 for a v8, unusual for someone to go the other way. so why go to the v6?

because i dont want to pay $30k for a car when i can get it for $20k only difference is performance interior is 100% identical. i can afford it but id rather have a v6 with less miles and better mpg.

Shouldn't be any issues with that cai but I would opt for a stock one imo.

So your trading it in for a v6? Didn't you already pay, or are paying, $30k? Aren't you going to take a loss doing this deal? Never heard of a trade going this way before.

when i bought my v8 i owed 26k if i buy this v6 ill owe 22.5k plus cheaper gas/better mpg and probably lower insurance. so ill probably be saving $100 a month and v6 has 26k miles while my v8 has 41k. ive had v8 for 3 months.

and why would you opt for stock one?

Wouldn't be concerned with the CIA; really no way to install them wrong and, since you're concerned about gas mileage, you should be happy with it. I know after installing mine, besides other things, I say an increase on average of 2 MPG ...

You're making a huge mistake. The mpg difference will be minimal, the insurance difference will be minimal, but the loss you'll take by trading your car after only 3 months will likely be substantial, not to mention that the 2LT will be a less desirable car to trade down the road than your current SS.

Keep the V8.. Nothing wrong with a V6 but you will find some advantages to the V8 over time since you already have it.

To be completely honest I don't think it looks good at all. I think a stock system would actually look better then what ever that is. Plus if it's a chrome tube it will just make the air going through it hotter.

I would recommend keeping the SS as well like others said.

well i know ill be taking a loss but after the loss the v6 will cost me 22.5k before the loss its $20.5k im estimating $2k loss. so in the end v6 is 4k cheaper. gas ill probably save $30 a month isnt much but its something.

in end i want a car with less miles, and to get a SS with under 25k miles itll be $30k. so id rather get a v6.
