That is why I always carry a donut with me. Throw it an watch her fetch!
Oh, by the way, I have a Volt and haven't used gas in more than six months. I should yell at Prii drivers for guzzling gas. (My wife has the Camaro, I also have a Corvette) |

The thing that bothers me with people like this - that feel they have a right to tell other people how to think - is that they are usually wrong. Maybe if she wasn't so mindless and thoughtless she would have bought a $15,000 yaris instead of a Prius. The amount of pollution created when they made that battery (not to mention the pollution made when they had to mine the rare earth metals that go into it) compared to the pollution from making a regular car won't be offset if she drives that Prius for 1,000 miles (which she won't do). Would have been better for the environment to buy a v8 camaro and remove the cats.

What I've seen here in Eastern MA is that Prius drivers go much faster than posted speed limits. I'd say 2 in 5 blatantly do more than 10 mph over any posted limit.
I'm not saying that it's some kind of sin, I'm saying that I don't even see Corvettes, Mustangs, Challengers or Camaros that are blasting 15 mph over a posted 65 limit with such regularity. It's strange. I know a guy at work that has a hybrid and he will try to give me mpg jibes as he drives me somewhere- while doing 40 mph in a 25 zone. I ask "so how many children have you run down so far?"

I can't stomach That kind of prius drivers, now if your just your average person and wanted a prius well good for you, there's a smuck that drives a white prius around town that has ACTUAL MPG 45 in stickers above his license plate. every time I see that car my blood just boils and I end up flipping him off. But what really makes me laugh is the freeway, I'm not the slowest driver by any means but I've been passed by a prius doing 15 over the speed limit around here on more than one occasion. I ended up laughing so hard I was worried I was going to wreck.

or shipping the parts back to the us. I might be mistaken but I believe most of it comes from asia. and let's not forget the limited life of the batteries, they need to be replaced what every 2-3 years at around 12k a pop.

So far I have only been driving regularly in San Diego for 3 weeks. However I have lost count of the Prius drivers that pass me like I'm standing still. All ages and sexes... Weird.

Prius drivers don't bother me, I usually thank them for driving a car with high MPGs so that I can drive my Camaro, muhahaha. Without cars like the Prius and with CAFE mandated MPGs cars like ours couldn't exist.
There are an annoying subset of Prius drivers I will admit, but I don't think its fair to generalize the few idiots to all drivers of that car. Heck there are stupid drivers of any car, even Camaros, that doesn't make all of them bad. |

The battery is not that expensive , just under three grand, installation will add several hundred dollars; the battery is a 7 to 8 year life cycle however people have gained more than this...

I am not going to comment on the rest of your post... but this statement is so blatantly WRONG and INCORRECT, it makes you look as foolish as you seem to think Prius owners are. I have a Camry Hybrid that is 7 years old, has nearly 100K (wife's car) and we have never replaced the batteries. My mother in law and brother in law both have 2005 Prius' and over 150K in miles on both and still on original batteries. The truth is the batteries will last 10+ years and there are Prius' with north of 300K miles and over 12 years old (first gen came one in 1997) still running on their original batteries and they are over 90% efficient. and the price of the batteries was $12k back in 2000, today they are about $1900 as quoted for our Camry within the past year, as we inquired before we hit 100K when the warranty on the batteries was up.
