OP, don't worry about the resale value argument. The difference in retained value is very small. Both were tops in their category for 2013

I hate CAI, they are to noisy plus suck all the dirt into your engine department.
Looks like a cheap CAI to me.

That's one of the advantages of the CAI manufactured by Cold Air Intakes, Inc. It's self sealed, not relying on the hood and foam edging on the intake box to fit tightly. Combined with the Apex air intake scoop and the w/w bottle relocation kit, ALL the air sucked into the scoop (which is also cooler air, coming from the lower grille area), goes directly into the insulated intake box, gets filtered, then directed into the throttle body. Any dirt in your engine compartment comes up from under the engine, which is pretty much unavoidable.

Love my CAI, Inc. intake setup (especially the extra sound and the "whoosh" when I kill the engine).

That's a new definition for petrolhead to me.

i had both at the same time up until March, the 2LT and the 2SS, (both bought new, 2010 V6, 2012 SS) before modding the 2SS, the MPG's on average was 16. the 2LT i was getting 19mpg on average.. this doesn't reflect my driving habits as much as it reflects the possible difference driving the exact same route for over 100k miles (80k on LT, 22k on SS). so say you gain an extra 3 miles per gallon... say you save 4mpg's. the savings isn't really there.

You'll definitely notice a power loss, so everyone saying a CAI will add power, well... consider you're dropping from 400 to 300, you're not gaining anything

the CAI also won't increase your MPG (enough to notice in my experience).

the amount you lose on your v8 trade in is going to end up making you swap even for a v6, or still be in the hole.

financially this doesn't really make any sense if you're already in a finance agreement with the SS. I guess i'm with all the others, lost at why someone would do this, insurance was nearly the same (about $125 every 6 months, so $20 a month?).

i sold the 2LT and my Aveo, and at the end of April bought a Volt

I'm sure the OP has his reasons, so why is everyone bashing him? He could have said he needed to sell the SS and get something other than another Camaro, which people have done here before and didn't get these kinds of response...

I don't think he's worried about the miles, he is just saying that the LT had less miles, which is good.
