That Lady is a big reason why I cant stand some prius/hybrid drivers who think they are so high up on their horse and have their head up the where the sun don't shine. I don't mind people who buy those types of cars and just go about their business and what not. Most people that I have talked to that bought pruis or hybrids were for two reasons and helping the environment wasn't one of them. 1 so they could ride in the HOV lane by themselves in rush out and cause it got good MPGS never was environment mentions to people and coworkers who bought them. I try and push more diesel cars on people when they ask me what a good car for gas mileage.

If you don't want to smell car exhaust in a parking lot, just park FAR AWAY from everyone.

This video is funny to me because I do see people all the time who leave their car running.

The "classic" is someone parked near the Walmart front door with the car running...and all the car exhaust flows straight through the front door and straight to say...the produce section...and everyone near the front has to inhale car exhaust all because one guy needs to park right next to the front door with his car running for 2 hours. (instead of turning it off or parking further away from a front door of a building).

Nasty car exhaust pretty much is what life is all about. It is everywhere once you walk 2 feet from your front door. There is no point to walking up to complete strangers to ask them why they leave their car on.

F.Y.I - You’ve got two choices: replace the battery, or the car.

Prius battery program which started in 2010:

After being removed, the battery pack is sent to specialist recycling firm Kinsbursky Brothers in Anaheim, California.

On arrival at the specialized facility, battery packs are broken down into their constituent parts, with nickel being smelted down for stainless steel used in making refrigerator doors, while rare-earth elements, plastic casings and electrolyte are all recycled into appropriate industries.
Oh, the battery in the Prius is nickel-metal hydride type. For some reason I thought it was a li-ion type. NiMH is much cheaper. No wonder I couldn;t figure the cost differences. Not the same battery

in europe and the plug in Prius (US) they use the lithium ion and they are supposed to transition that battery into use for the US version after the next gen Prius is released I believe

Hyundai started using Li-Poly batteries in their Hybrid versions in 2012, Toyota is still using Ni-MH..

Personally I didn't realize how many different manufacturers were making and selling hybrid vehicles, while some on this list have been discontinued, and some are marked as "hollow hybrid" (i.e. a design only implemented to help the manufacturer get over the CARB and EPA humps and has no real reduction in green house gases), there are quite a lot of them out there:
