Sonic missing brake pads? LOL!

Well, I guess weights on the brake calipers is not so bad compared to this. How in the world did GM let this happen?

All dealers do a pre-delivery inspection. How could you not know the car has no brakes?

Delphi Automotive's subsidiary in South Korea provides GM with the brake assembly for the Sonic.

The missing brake pads--part of a subassembly of components--fell off before the cars were assembled and had remained unnoticed at the bottom of containers being shipped to the Orion Township, Mich., factory, said GM spokesman Alan Adler.

NO UNION JOBS THERE! GM retired after 30+ yrs.

Well it sounds like the cars had brakes, just not all of them. At slow speeds transitioning from factory to truck to dealer. Most would not notice this issue.

The subsidiary in South Korea needs to be kicked to the curb. The assembly line employees need to be fired, suspended, or take pay cuts. Quality control needs to face the same penalties.

Time to make an example out of this situation. BS like this should not be tolerated at General Motors. Even if it was technically the supplier's fault, I find it inconceivable that nobody on the assembly line noticed a lack of brake pads on the brake assemblies.
