Sorry for the chipped paint :(. I can confirm that it shouldn't be a problem on the convertible. The truck lid is completely different and squared off.

just too a look at mine, not understanding how this happens exactly. The lid seems to have ample clearance on mine. I do see a slight notch on the body panel that looks like the manufacturer may have pushed the metal in a bit? I've carelessly opened and closed my trunk since I got the car. Maybe its if you push against and pull up?

It appears to have clearance on mine too. I do not see it touching when I open or close it.

It takes two days because they can't just touch up the paint. The whole panel needs to be sanded down and repaint the entire panel. At least that's how a proper repair should be done.

 This happened to me today. After reading this thread. DO NOT OPEN YOUR TRUNK BY PULLING THE LID FROM THE OUTER CORNERS..PULL UP FROM THE CENTER (bow tie section).  when you pull from the corners the trunk shifts making contact with the quarter panel on the opposite side.
