I have had to fight to get a car totaled when the damage is not quite enough to be a constructive total but once the insurance company declares it a total loss, they will have a report generated based on comparables and it is hard to dispute that as long as it is in the ballpark. Do your own research to keep them honest. Make sure you are also paid sales tax and license fees for your old car as those are expenditures you will have to make to replace your ride. Give them receipts for your aftermarket parts...they may not pay but it is worth a try.

Glad you are OK. Good luck.

Not sure if this is applicable in your case but I have known folk to just say REPLACE my vehicle with a similar one and refuse a payment. You therefore get involved in finding a suitable replacement..........you have control of the outcome. That is if you want a 2016 2SS again.
Good luck.

Another reason why if your Camaro is NOT YOUR DAILY DRIVER Please get Collector car Insurance so you have an AGREED VALUE.

Take my 2010 Camaro 2LT/RS (Modified appearance) I have an Agreed Value of $30k on it so if my car ends up in this situation my insurance company (Grundy Collector Car Insurance) will be cutting me a check for the whole $30k if the vehicle is totaled.

Your insurance company will offer you market value in the low 30's to high 20's.

OP should get $36k. He is lucky to be alive and walking around. The other car was probably anticipating the light changing to green and was moving along rather than starting from a stop.

Sorry about the misery.

Get a lawyer, i think you could have more trouble down the road!

PS This is just an opinion based in your "white lettered tires" and "Hybrid sticker".......

Did you get injured? I mean regardless the car can be replaced but sometimes things come up later on down the road where you might not just feel anything as of yet then bam, herniated disk, spasms, ect.

Big-big piece of advice. Do not release the car to the insurance company until you get an offer you are happy with in writing.

Ask for the written appraisal, review it and call the number to verify the info is correct AND the car is still available.

Repeat after me: The insurance company is not my friend. The insurance company is not my friend.....
