That's possible. There's also the possibility of it showing up earlier in something like the '15 CTS.

Honestly I think I first heard of the LGX from FenwickHockey65...who seems to have some automotive ties (I think he is involved in automotive journalism somehow) and he is usually fairly on, so I have no reason to doubt him. I also read elsewhere about GM developing a new family of V6 engines so there is that, but I can't remember where that was.

The word is that it will replace the LFX in the Cadillac first.

As far as I know ATS is getting LGX first with its MCE, plus new transmissions.

Info on the engine is pretty much nonexistent at this point.

Is that MCE for the 2015 model year? I would think we would hear something soon if that's the case.

ATS is getting a new front fascia to bring it in line with the coupe but I don't have a timeframe for the powertrain update.

Split the diff and make a 75 degree engine :P

I've read that the high feature block was designed to be expandable from 2.8l to 4.0l... If credible, and the same block is used, I can see a 3.8 in the future...

If they punch it out all the way to 4.0L to get higher HP&TQ outputs, with AFM it would run as a 2.7L in 4cyl mode. Which should yield great mpg highway. That combined with a the joint F/GM rwd 10-speed trans would push mileage even higher. But there's no telling when that trans will make it into Camaro.
