Tremec TR-3160 vs Aisin AY6 in 6th gen?

I wonder if a variant of the Tremec TR 3160 used in the ATS will be the manual transmission for the V6 6th Gens? I'm not terribly impressed with the AY6 in my 2103 V6.

Whats wrong with your Aisin Warner 6? Mine shifts like butter. Don't know how it will hold to aggressive slamming though like in a Muncie Rock cruncher.

Glad to hear you got a good one. Mine is OK, but even with a full synthetic lube change it doesn't shift like butter. Always room for improvement and more strength.

Based on pictures, it looks like GM is sticking with the single brake/clutch fluid reservoir again for the manuals.

So does anyone have confirmation about what transmission is being used for the 2016 V6 manuals?

It is, the one slotted below the 6060, same at the GT350 uses.

Quoted from the Ford web site for the GT350

"The heart and soul of this beast lives in the 5.2L V8 engine with a flat-plane crank that produces 526 horsepower. It's bolted to a world-class TREMEC® 3160 6-speed manual transmission and you have a car that delivers 429 lb.-ft. of torque."

Quoted from the Chevy C a m a r o S i X web site for the SS.

"They are also offered with six-speed manual transmissions, as is the Camaro SS. Its TREMEC TR6060 six-speed manual features Active Rev Match technology, a driver-selectable feature that automatically “blips” the throttle for perfectly timed downshifts."

He was asking about the V6.

Ford went with the TR3160 to save weight. Unfortunately they are also right at the upper limit of what that transmission can handle. Doesn't sound like its going to be the best platform to add any power to the GT-350.
