An LT1?? Why do I keep seeing this in regards to the 6th Gen camaro?

The newest small block is the LT1 6.2 liter. GM recycled the LT designation.

Jesus... I'm either being trolled hardcore or I'm waaaay far behind in what's going on with GM. I need to do some reading on this. I can't even comprehend why they would go back to that design

You are way behind because the C7 Stingray is powered by the new LT1. The new LT1 has nothing in common with the opti spark LT1 or the LT-1 of the 70s.

Didn't know any of that either. Do you have a direct link to a site or whatever that has details on the "new" LT1 engine?

1) Sounds fantastic.
2) It looks a little "rally-ish" with that raised spoiler. 3) Even though it sounds fantastic, I'm worried that Chevy will put a shitty exhaust on to start (like the one that came on my 1le) and it will make zero noise unless I pay more for a better exhaust. 4) The whole time I was wondering, "but did they move the cup holders?" lol

You can tell it is lighter than our cars the way it is reacting to the track. It looks loose either the alignment could be more aggressive or the spring/shock valving needs work. The driver seems to be countering understeer on entry. We should have a great track car regardless. I just wish the styling was something other than the '14 stepped on look. The big lower opening should provide a good basis for cooling.
Can't wait to see it compared to M4s and Mustangs. The dry sump would give the 1LE some serious credentials. Will be great for the new Bluebonnet track here in Texas.

Great video! Sure "looked" like the rumble of the car was shaking the camera about 1:42.

its going to be interesting because it will be an all new camaro, vs an all nearly new mustang.... and I'm sure GM doesn't want to come out off the bench losing. you can be sure the next gen SS is probably gunna out handle the gen 5 1LE. ive driven the new mustang, i gotta say, sitting in it is cool, feels audi like... but in this market, the V8s are judged on performance first. and even more recently, handling. then looks or interior quality... i think the camaro winning Motortrends drivers car of the year is a real testament of the engineers capability. I'm thinking the SS with a Handleing package will probably boast the magne shocks. that would be the best / easiest way to distinguish itself from the now IRS mustang. the LT1 is another thing all together. if the damn thing is tuneable and that LT1 in the camped camaro sounds very muffled
