2014 WRX vs 2015 SS 1LE
So my little brother has a 2014 WRX with a turbo-back exhaust, cold air intake, and Cobb tuned. He will be getting it tuned on E85 soon too. Will he be able to beat my 2015 1LE when it comes in? I'm going to get a CAI, LT headers, Nightfury cam, and a tune around the end of the year? I feel pretty confident, but my friend as a 2013 WRX with the same mods and it's a 10 second car. What do you guys think?

I Just traded in a 2012 STI on a 2014 1LE. I would say the 1LE is a faster car unless its raining. My STI was Stage II (turbo back 3" exhaust and tuned by Torqued Performance to 20psi). Once the WRX gets on E85 things may swing to its favor until your cam and tune goes in.

Stock, the WRX is a 14@98mph car vs the 1LE which is a 12.7@111 car. You will have no issues even with his exhaust and CAI.
With the tune it depends on stage 1 or 2. Either way, they only pick up between 30-90hp. Stage 2 cars with supporting mods are running mid/low 13's on the WRX forums with a few running 12.9's. Should be a cake walk. |

First of all...a WRX with only exhaust, intake, and E85 tune is not a 10 second car. Your friend is either not telling you the full story or he's giving you BS.
The WRX will give you a hard time initially from a dig but the 1LE will easily pull away on the top end, especially with the mods you plan on getting.

10 sec WRX with an intake/exhaust/tune is absurd.
Camaro with cam and headers will give you plenty of power to win. Your disadvantage is the launch. If your on a highway, it will be no competition but at a strip, if you lose traction, you will probably lose the race. |

Considering everybody's watched fast and furious. Rice burner cars obviously shift nine or 10 times. Can run 10 flat on street tires. Have WARP speed buttons etc. on the street though they do take off like a jack rabbit lol. But most of the ones you will run into Peter out pretty quickly after the initial jump.

Raced one with minor boltons and all I have is cold air. Raced from a 30 roll and beat him pretty easy

I love the WRX and STI but I'd rather have a 1LE!

Why not take him to a track "with turns" and make it interesting since that is what the 1LE was designed to do. Then it becomes more of a drivers race.

He might get you 0-60, but you'll get him before the end of the 1320.

Those mods don't come close to making a WRX a 10 sec car. I know guys with stage 2 WRX setups (Full exhaust, intake, Cobb tune) and they can only run low 13s at the track. If they could drive better they could probably get down in the high 12s, but that's about it. You should go over to www.NASIOC.com and chat with the guys over there. They will let you know exactly how fast "most" guys run with those mods. Last edited by SGOS252382; 05-26-2014 at 12:36 PM. |

I should have no problem at all then. I heard that E85 does wonders to that car though...
