Borla atak and npp
This is my first sports car and first exhaust purchase. I have a 2019 ss and I bought the borla atak cat back with npp dual mode system for $2700. I noticed in the description that it does not come with the valves and that I would have to reuse my stock valves and thought ok no big deal. Got the exhaust in the mail and unboxed everything I see no way to reuse my stock valves. Is there something else I need to purchase? The sales person at American muscle said I would have everything I needed with that system

You only need to reuse the black actuator assembly with the "legs" that control the valves (see below), the physical rotating valves themselves will be removed along with the stock exhaust and your Borla setup should have counterparts.

The system you purchased does not have the NPP valves for the actuators that arpad_m stated above.
See the NPP valves on this one below link? (the valves on the below are on the one exhaust with the welded plate on it) https://www.americanmuscle.com/magna...ips-19265.html and on this borla version: https://www.lmperformance.com/735724...oaAgvAEALw_wcB on a side note... with that $$ I put headers and a tune on mine... it is crazy loud. (The stock suitcase on the 2SS is good for 1000whp anyways). But normally when you tune the car, you will void the powertrain warranty if the dealership can verify the tune or mod was part of any problem that you have. Every dealership is different in that aspect. Putting on an aftermarket exhaust should not void your warranty, but a call to your local dealer should verify that. Good luck on the install!

You can send it back and order the right one, or you can keep it and zip-tie your actuators up and out of the way so that it won't set any codes (which will happen if you simply un-plug and remove the actuators).

There should be a fitting for the valves as shown in this pic
My Borla ATAK has it and the factory motors just bolted right up

Looking further on Borlas site and it appears all the cat back systems do not have the piece for the valves while the axle backs do
For example my system is Part#11925 and it is like the pic above, you however have a 140688 and even on the Borla site no valve fittings. Time to call Borla and ask them what's up |

Yea he said he didn't recommend what I bought unless I was doing a major overhaul and a tune. He recommended a return and a 11925.

That's a good call, and the axleback will be cheaper as well.
