Soo, I am looking at a 2012 manual. Not really all that excited about a manual, in ATL traffic it can be a pain, but the price and miles are hard to resist.

So, I know about most of the issues on a 2012, but I never really looked at the manual transmission. I didn't find much on the search, other than normal transmission issues.

Are there any specific worries with the 2012 manual tranny?

Good looking car! That sports bar is a $500 accessory all by itself. I wish they weren't so expensive. I'd have one.

I'd like to put your mind at ease regarding the early model convertibles. I'm on my second Vert (both 2011's). I sold my last and regretted it so I got another. The top rubbing issue was an easy fix once I determined the root cause. I posted the fix with photos many years ago on here. I have not had the 5th bow issue on either car. So I wouldn't rule out the early models if that's what you want. But do inspect any potential candidates for the rub marks which are evident on both sides of the top in the areas of the driver and passenger side windows. Again, there are photos if you search this forum.

My son bought a 2014 LT with 40k miles on it a few years ago. We've only put 23k miles on it over those 4 years, and this thing is rock solid. No issues, easy to work on (brakes, plugs, routine maintenance, etc). I beat on it pretty good, squeezing all the life out of those 6 cylinders that I can, and it's held up like a champ. I was pleasantly surprised, not having the greatest expectations from a GM product.

As was stated earlier, if you buy one used with decent miles on it, be sure to get the maintenance records. A lot of guys abuse these rides by failing to keep up with proper maintenance.
