M6 Gear Indicator on Info Screen Somewhere?

So am I just missing it or is there nowhere on the dash info screens or HUD that shows what gear you're in on an M6? [ R ] shows on the info screen when in reverse (along with the rear camera on screen), but nothing shows 1st to 6th gear. Do only A8 models get screen notification of gear shifting? Seems kinda stupid. There are times where I have the clutch pushed in to up or downshift and I'm not sure if I went in 1st/3rd or 2nd/4th before I release the clutch - I will put it back in neutral then put it back in gear before releasing the clutch. I've got used to driving a stick again after many years away and it's so much part of the driving experience of a sports car, even as a daily driver.

It shows up on the bottom right of the center instrument cluster:

It's usually white but turns orange when active rev match is turned on

The TR-6060 in the 2016 SS contains a gear position sensor which enables rev matching. The TR-3160 does not, so no gear position for V6. I could be wrong though, I don't own a V6.

Well, I guess it's just strange they would have it on the V8 but not the V6. Seems theV6 missing a few things like an aftermarket Catch Can and CAI. I won't let these things deter me from enjoying my Camaro!

I find it strange it's needed by anyone driving a manual. I have an auto now, but I only had manual transmissions in my vehicles (cars and motorcycles) for 25+ years and don't ever recall wishing I knew what gear I was in. But whatever, to each their own. Sorry that you don't have it since you want it.

I had a 1989 Ford Escort that had that. But I never paid any attention to it. I am not sure what anyone really needs it for.

As I said, I'm getting used to driving a manual again. The system alerts me if I rest my foot too much on the clutch while city driving. So much technology in this car, I guess I just expected to see the gear number somewhere... and apparently it is in the SS. Plus, I will be teaching my son how to drive a manual in this car <shudder to think>. I thought it might help him out.
