That pic just cements my opinion of how much more muscular the 5th gen looks compared to the 6th gen.

I agree! That was my first thought when I got out of my car. The edges on the 5th gen are much sharper and more intimidating.

The 6th Gen is a good looking car. The problem is that the 5th Gen is a great looking car. Gen 5 was the perfect blend of modern aesthetics and "throw back" muscle car.

I think the 6th gen is about to make the 5th gen look dated. Both are great looking cars.

Other than the weight reduction, I don't see much that visually knocks me over with the gen6.

Saw my first Gen6 last Friday myself. I should've parked and taken pics like this. The one I saw was a black 2ss and at that moment I was thinking the new Camaro was a lot better looking in person than in all the pics I've seen online. The interior is night and day better BUT your pics here take me back to thinking otherwise on the exterior. I cant justify the price tag on the Gen6 for it to not look anymore aggressive and lacking the presence the 5th gen has. Gen6 is better at everything except the looks when next to each other....well I also prefer the LS3 over the new LT1 as well. IMO the LS3 is a better engine and will take more abuse than the LT1 from what I've seen with the C7's so far.

These photos are the first time I have ever felt like the 5th Gen looked dated.

5th gen really paid tribute to the muscle of the 60's, and it's obvious now more than ever. Nothing about the 6th gen makes me even consider a trade in. |

In isolation the two cars look similar. But side-by-side the differences are clearly evident. I suspect that the 6th gen will indeed make the 5th gen look somewhat dated, much the way 2nd gen made the 1st gen look dated. Nevertheless, I prefer the 1st iteration to the 2nd and the 5th iteration to the 6th. Both the 1st and 5th gens have a more masculine, almost brutal, appearance than their replacements.
