OK Mustang driver arrested for driving 208 MPH
http://kfor.com/2016/11/15/man-arres...homa-turnpike/
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a state trooper arrested a driver after clocking his speed at more than 200 mph. The patrol says Trooper Ryan Smith pulled over 19-year-old Hector Fraire Saturday on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City. Authorities say Fraire was driving a Ford Mustang and the trooper’s radar clocked the car at 176 mph and then 208 mph. Authorities say the driver attempted to elude the state trooper, turning off his headlights and brake lights at one point. Fraire was eventually pulled over at a red light. The highway patrol says the driver stopped his car and dropped his keys out of the window. The highway patrol says the driver was arrested on complaints of reckless driving and felony eluding. Another version: http://ktul.com/news/offbeat/ohp-19-...during-pursuit OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) - A 19-year-old driver has been arrested and faces charges of driving in excess of 200 mph. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Paul Timmons says 19-year-old Hector Fraire was traveling at record speeds Nov. 14 on the Kilpatrick Turnpike. "200 miles an hour ... That is extremely fast," Timmons said. The OHP says Fraire was spotted by a trooper near the Council Road exit on the Kilpatrick Turnpike and was clocked at 84 mph when the trooper attempted to pull him over. "The guy was trying to get away from the trooper. Apparently he had turned off his headlights hoping to lose the trooper," Timmons said. Timmons says the driver exited the turnpike at the Northwest Expressway where another trooper spotted his 2011 Ford Mustang. "It just so happened to be a Canadian County deputy sitting close to the area," Timmons said. The deputy pulled him over into a parking lot, where he was arrested for reckless driving and attempting to elude. Timmons says it is fortunate that no one was hurt. "At that type of speed, the end result is going to be very bad," Timmons said. Timmons says Fraire reached a top speed of 208 mph during the pursuit. |

What's funny is I actually know the guy, and the cop said his rear scanner clocked Hector at 176mph and then his front scanner clocked him at 208mph. He's out of jail now though.

Obviously something wrong with the calibration then as car is incapable of going that fast without serious mods. Not to mention the difference in clocked speeds within a few hundred feet.

2011 Mustang clocked at 208 MPH!
http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2016/11/...t-208-mph.html
Anyone see this story in todays news? Oklahoma kid clocked at 84 mph decided to run and was clocked at 176, then at 208 mph! That must be one highly modified Mustang... driven by one ignorant owner! Guy looks like he's about 21. |

So did he disconnect his brake switch or how did he turn off his brakelights, guess the writer of the article meant to say he turned off his tail lamps

Have a tough time believing he was at 208 mph. Unless that was a very seriously modified car.
Fastest number I ever got in 32 years on the job , was 168 and that was a Haybusa m/c. Had a few cars in the 140's but never anything higher. |

Night time, Sensationalist news media. I'd take that top speed with a lot of salt grains.
The fact that the incident didn't end in an accident makes you wonder though. How retarded are the drivers coming out of cars and coffee if people consider this guy to be reckless, stupid etc for driving the way he drove? |

Good question, I noticed that too, however, it is possible the install a toggle switch in the tail light / break light circuit so they can manually be disabled. They used to do it to our patrol cars. He may have been planning his little run for a long time!

Hopefully for his sake he put as much effort into the suspension and aerodynamics as he did to the engine! 208 mph in a 2011 Mustang on public streets would be a scary proposition!
He won't have a drivers license for a long long time.... depending on how rich his daddy is! |
