I hear ya...I'm afraid after my mods on my ZL1 anything but a Z06/Z07 would'nt feel any quicker or faster than what I have now.

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

The 10 spd is yet to prove it self but it looks awesome so far. I'm with you the new gizmos are cool.

But I really think our 5th Gen ZL1's will be the 69' Camaro's of the future. Hard to find and everyone will want one. It's my option that the robust drive train of the 5th Gen and the moddabilty of the LSA supercharged engine will stand the test of time.

But with that said numbers dont lie. Based on the numbers the V6 & V8 1LE 6th Gen's put down I'm looking forward to seeing what the 6th Gen ZL1 and Z/28 do the track.
I've been saying this for awhile.

Just out of curiosity I test drove a '17 SS today. It's noticeably smaller in the interior, it doesn't seem like you have as much leg room (width) as the Gen 5. It definitely handles nicely and the interior is pretty user friendly. My overall feeling is that our Gen 5's are more "muscle car" looking, but I suppose the Gen 6's are better performance... but, at my level, I doubt I'm even getting close to what mine is capable of. I can't see me getting rid of my Gen 5.

I have not test driven a Gen 6 but have seen pics and read a few things about them.

Downers:
-Vents being right in front of the gear shift. Meaning constant air on your hands for us manual guys
-Even smaller trunk
-Even less rear seat room
-Supposedly even less visibility
-why eliminate the door pockets?

Saying all that the GEN 6 ZL1 looks bad ass in my opinion. Just won't be trading mine in no time soon...........

As someone who owned a 2013 ZL1 and now has a 2015 Z/28, the new 2017 ZL1 looks awesome... the weight savings alone helps in performance, but its got the LT4 and will eventually make way more power than any older ZL1...IMO...

I didn't realize the LT4 was that much superior to the LSA...

Or the valves gunk up because there is no fuel to wash away oil from the valve guides.
