I honestly think that if GM had ANY sense, they'd create hybrid Camaros. This would give Camaro buyers the exhaust rumble that they love, the instant torque to run with Teslas and other EVs, and would slowly pull the hard core ICE buyers towards a "compromise". I'd love to have an electric motor that can get the Camaro off the line with instant rich electric torque, alongside a big hearty roaring V8 that is only summoned after the small electric motor has done its job.
I would agree with the hybrid as long as it is done right. I have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe that the plug-in hybrid system was done great. Seamless power transfer and the extra HP and torque are always waiting on tap.
On the other hand I have a F-150 Powerboost non plug-in hybrid that is questionable at best. Transfer can be clunky and it hesitates and just not well engineered. I just ordered a new truck with the 3.5 Ecoboost non hybrid.

I remember when they were sending out surveys about something similar. I guess it was when they were still toying around with a 7th gen. I would have been down for this as well. I'm not against electric, I just like my V8.

Yeah, there's just something about the growl of the V8 that can't be replaced, as much as they try with the stereo system (like the Ford V6 and other European vehicles). I figure a hybrid system will at least allow the Camaro to get off the line quick enough to compete with the hybrids. Although, I imagine that GM may have already tinkered and found that it wasn't possible to create a seamless hybrid that was competitive enough with electric off the line. Ultimately, the consumer wants what the consumer wants and if a hybrid V8 can't keep up with a regular EV, then I am ok with GM jumping on the EV train.

Note that Corvette's Caffeine metallic will not be available on the 2023 Camaro. Somebody just posted a picture of the Corvette as reference.

They just showed off a bunch of Indy 500 Camaro’s in Wild Cherry but no Indy 500 special edition paint & graphics package cars being done, and instead Wild Cherry is canceled on Camaro while it’s still available on other GM vehicles I believe unless they do it with the new Red Tintcoat for 2023. Riverside Blue & Shadow Gray soldiering on for a 5th model year on the Camaro, GM is usually done with colors after 3-4 years other than White, Black, and Red. If they did do a send off Camaro I’d bet it’d be very basic with next to no thought put into it. If they were going to resurrect the car as an EV they probably wouldn’t send off the Camaro at all.

Any chance to see yellow back ? Looks like Camaro would only share Caddy sedan colors.

So did Lethal Camaro ever admit he was wrong or retract his "highly reliable source" statements?

According to GMAuthority the new colors will be

Sharkskin Metallic replaces (paint code GXD)
Radiant Red Tintcoat replaces (paint code GNT)

These two colors will replace two existing exterior hues that were offered on the Chevy Camaro for the 2022 model year. Sharkskin Metallic arrives in place of Satin Steel Metallic (paint code G9K) while Radiant Red Tintcoat arrives in place of Wild Cherry Tintcoat (paint code GSK).

Well Chevy just made up my mind. I was waiting to choose my last gas powered car it was between the camaro and the Challenger. Since camaro doesn’t care to do anything. Dodge it is. No problem. Plenty of great colors plenty of great options.

I don't see color being the deciding factor for me if I were in the market for a Challenger and a Camaro. The only thing that might sway me towards the Challenger is if I needed it to be a daily driver and was ok with giving up handling for a little more daily duty, but that would mean that the Challenger would have to really wow me with its driving.

But, understandable if color is a major factor for you. I don't think the two are so close that color options would be the deciding factor, at least not based on what I wanted.

When I last compared insurance rates between SS Camaro, Mustang GT, and the Challenger RT the Challenger was double the rate of the Camaro and the Mustang. So that in itself was a big turn off to me for even considering a Challenger. BTW my insurance carrier is Nationwide. I think Chevy offers enough color options in the Camaro to meet most buyers needs.

I thought the same thing at first but probably not. Nardo Grey has a gloss, not metallic finish, kind of like a Grey version of Rapid Blue. If youve ever seen Destroyer Grey on the Charger or Challenger, Nardo looks like that. The sharkskin silver should look like a regular metallic medium/dark grey, like the existing Shadow Grey. Hope I’m wrong but I think it’s just a generic dark grey.
