Bradenton last night
Few things from last night, and I apologize that this will be a long read before hand.
DA was 3000 with a heat index of 103. Not good, but why not have some fun? First thing I see when I get there was 1320 Racing and Cleetus doing some filming of roll racing. He had his completely devoid of body panel C5 there. Met the young man and I do appreciate his many videos and contributions to our sport. Second thing is when I was pulling up to the gate, I notice a hyper blue V6 with Overkill Supercharged stickers. Turns out that it was Terry himself. Talked with him a bunch and took a few pictures of his setup. Very clean install. We actually went head to head for the first race of the night. Didn't go well for him this time, and I don't know what it ran because our track only gives you your half of the timeslip, but it had to be mid 13's or slower based on the distance between us. Again, terrible DA and Overkill was just starting to get this car dialed in. Not the result they had hoped for either, but you need to start somewhere. My best two runs were with launch control, and they were my first two in the oppressive heat: 1.984 60' 7.981 1/8th at 90.69 12.214 1/4 at 114.44 1.992 60' 8.013 1/8th at 91.33 12.268 1/4 at 113.88 Corrected for mildly modified NA engines, that's about 11.77 at 118.8 which is where it normally runs in better air, so LC is going to be the way to go for me. Launch control does some weird stuff now that my car is tuned. The tires will get loose and chirp every second as I hold the car with the brakes (notice correct spelling.. LOL). So the track manager asked me to NOT use it since I was tearing up the launch area. I obliged and agreed. Every other run resulted in me not being able to get traction. Even running the tires at 20PSI and doing a slow sticky burn didn't help. Leaving easy and then building up to 20-30MPH and then going for it also resulted in no traction and my best 60' without LC last night was a paltry 2.177 (approx. 2.2) and a worst of 2.443. All mid 12's at 114, so I shouldn't complain. I do not want to run DR's, but I have another option. I will speak with the track manager prior to running tomorrow night and give him my thoughts. What if I don't hold LC once I have the 2nd staging lights on and then only engage once the ambers start counting down? I don't care if I run a 2 second R/T, but the car should only chirp the tires once if at all. Can't be any worse than all the street cars that do a burnout from the start. Here are some of the images of stuff from last night:

Also, for comparison, a brand new CTSV made a best of 12.0 at 117. A tuned, CAI, straight pipe exhaust Challenger Scat Pack on 315's was 12.7 at 110. A CAI, tuned fifth gen A6 Camaro was 13.3 at 108.

Let me know next time you plan on going. I'd make the drive down.

I put a major hurting on a 2013 cts-v last time out. He was running 12.1-12.3 with stock tires and 1.9-2.0 60 ft most of the night. I gapped him something awful haha When he seen I was simply bolt ons he couldn't believe it lol. You should get a set of rear rims and DR just for track days car runs good. Have you disabled tq management or done any trans tuning ? That was worth .2-3 alone on my car no other changes FYI. I only run no TM at the track as I've heard it can reduce transmission life |

They were only roll racing prior to the track officially opening. They had a Mustang vs the Supra vs Leroy. Should be up on their videos soon.

I am looking to run for fun tonight and just see what kind of street cars show up. I had a couple losses to a well modded 5.0 the other night that I would have beat using launch control. He was running 12.4's on DR's but I kept catching him on the back half only to lose by a tenth.

Going tonight for sure. I'll try LC again, but only after the lights are on the way down.
