Screw em! You could have bought a truck load of pencils too. All that matters is that you got what you wanted. Let them go buy a Corvette.

Maybe if you'd bought a ZL1, but no..you couldn't have bought a Corvette (new) for what you paid for your SS.

$25K is tops for me on a used vehicle, I would rather take the initial resale hit on new knowing that it has no prior abuse history and has it's full warranty.

I've bought several lease returns and second hand cars over the years, and I can tell you every one of them was plagued with problems. Only had 1 new car that had major issues and that was my own damn fault for buying a first model year version from Ford..
until this car I had never ever bought new.
Used is too attractive.
Get alot more car for the money.
Never had any problems ever.

Cobras vettes stangs trans ams etc.
Even my last jap car my Infiniti was used.

I'd just tell them, "with my credit rating I could have bought two Corvettes, his and her's. But I wanted this car. You go buy a vette."

Holy crap..
42K? for a 13 GS that is lower than nearly all the 2SS/RS packages on the lots we went to.

man.. that is a screaming price.

Dealerships have been dropping prices $10-$12k on the Corvette's but the only one near the SS price range was the 2LT.

2LT went from $56k to $45k.

3LT went from $70k to $58k.

A 427 1SA went from $83k to $75.

All were new.

I bought mines used at a steal price. This is why I am not craving the ZL1 too much.

Performance wise I like the corvettes but for looks not so much. The 2014 stingray on the other hand, oh my I would definetly get one if I was in the market for a new car (if the dealers didnt mark them up like I'm assuming they will)
