Camaros are shipped to Charlotte to be staged for rail shipment. As far as I know, that is the only reason.

After it was built at 3800 status it changed to 4B00 status a couple of days later. On 2/3 my status was 4300 delivery to Charlotte Mi. Since then it has been at 4B00 status. My dealer called me today and confirmed it is in quality control hold. So GM is back to the BS stuck in qc for way too long. It seems like they have 1 person who checks on your car once it goes to qc hold.
Hopefully some posters who were also in qc hold can give me an idea of how long I will be stuck in this BS. My Camaro better have zero problems when it finally arrives or I might lose my mind.

I would look for another Camaro but I'm extremely picky and can't find another one just like the 1 I ordered and I got a great deal basically invoice.

Might have the oil pump issue that needs to be fixed??

I contacted the GM Customer service and they were very nice to me they told me mine was in random QC from 1/11 and was released 1/23. I am happy with it cause when I got my car it was perfect, no problems what so ever I have about 500 miles with no issues, love the car

I just told the GM that I was having trouble getting information from my dealer and I asked them not to contact my dealer regarding my issue.

Thanks again I will call that number tomorrow while I'm at work. I have the DBC phone number also. I will call the DBC tomorrow if your route doesn't work. I'm not a big fan of red cars but your Camaro looks very nice.

I just called the customer service 800 number and tried to get some information about my car. At first they said "You know this is just customer service, we can help you place an order for a car but that's about it" lol.

After explaining it some more they said they could track it...10 min on hold and she comes back and says "Looks like I can't find out anything more than you already know. Your car is still in Michigan and has no ETA of when it will leave there. I can connect you to your dealer though if you like? "

Sigh...

They helped me and gave me a rail car number, QC dates, QC release dates, They were more helpful then my dealer get a rail car number when you can and track the rail car via Automatic phone response

Called the dbc today and found out my car has been in quality control hold since February 4th and that is the last update on my camaro. So it's like it is just sitting there and lost on the lot until some genius checks it and releases the quality control hold.

Quality Control is a good thing. Just need to be patient...I know it's tough. It'll be worth it!! Especially compared to that car.

Quality control is usually a great thing but Chevy quality control is a joke. I have ordered a few cars by different car manufacturers and in my personal experience which is a small sample size Chevy is a complete joke. Some people are getting their cars within 2 weeks of being built yet mine was built over a month ago. Also many cars are having problems like paint that should never get released. The mechanical problems and issues many people are having qc can't find or will never catch b/c it is near impossible. I have come to realize you are a Chevy nuthugger and your views are so biased and 1 sided your a joke. That Mustang is a very nice car and in many ways is better than a 2016 Camaro SS.
