Maganflow Resonated x pipe with resonator and muffler delete

What up guys, this is my first post as a member on this forum and its about my exhaust. Before the bashing begins on my v6 lol, im only 17 and proud to say that im paying for the car myself. Anyways I recently went and had an exhaust shop do a muffler delete with the magnaflow resonated x pipe. It sounded good, but for some reason it sounded like stock at wot.. I might be crazy but the Resonated x pipe did quite it down a lot So I had them cut of the Resonators to give me a little more sound. It did make it louder when heard from outside but literally from 1000-6500 rpm it sounds exactly like stock from inside the cabin! wtf It was louder with the Resonators on then with just a pipe in its place.. There was more drone with the resonators on then off So my question is if I went with a Tru X will it change the volume and get the sound im looking for Into the cabin? Or is there something I can do with the setup I have right now and get that low bass effect into the cabin?

Welcome to the forum, you won't get alot of V6 bashing in the V6 section. We love them lol. That's weird that you think it's no louder than stock. I've had the same setup as you and mine was way louder than stock. The Tru xpipe will be louder for sure but it will probably be raspy as hell. I spent a small fortune on my exhaust trying to get the sound I wanted. But being 17 you probably like it louder than me.

Its loud don't get me wrong, when I had my friend bash it in a stright away while I stood outside to record it was loud and deep. The only thing that disappointed me is the sound is inside the car, maybe I'll just have to invest in a Tru x pipe and some SLP resonators and see how that goes. Hey man thanks for the quick reply and welcoming me into this forum I really do appreciate it!

One more thing, did your Resonated x pipe get louder after a break in period or is the " breaking in" mufflers just a myth?

Intake is something I was planning on getting today actually CAI or Roto fab, don't know which one yet. High flow cats might have to wait a bit longer untilli save up the money for it lol but we will see

Love this thread because I'm still running 100% stock intake & exhaust. I have lots of questions regarding the following plan:
1. MRT V2 cat-back system (MRT is 20 minutes from home).
2. Cold Air Intake (CAI or RotoFab. It seems like many Camaro owners are off-loading some of their used cold air intakes right in this forum. Any concerns with buying used?).
3. DT or JBA shorty headers (any recommendations?).

Here's the main question: What order would you recommend to improve sound quality & performance?

Sorry for adding to your thread - it just seems they compliment each other.

I did a little test with the exhaust system today. I went out to my local autozone and pep boys to buy some clamps and cherry bomb glass pack 26 2.5 inch mufflers. ( Let me explain lol) I left the resenated x pipe in place where the H pipe used to be. From there, I used a band clamp to connect the cherry bomb and magnaflow x pipe together (These band clamp things are pretty damn good if you tighten them right) any way after the glasspacks I used 2 more clamps to tighten the mufflers to the 2.5 inch piping that led all the way to the back 4 inch Resonated tips. When I started her up, it was loud, deep, and it rumbled and shock the whole car because the mufflers were placed where the resonators used to be. Now, drone is there but it's not bad because the Resonated x pipe does its job very well. When crusing you won't hear it with music playing (especially me because I have 2 kicker 12 L7's) but damn, when you press the throtal its a deep sound that you feel in your chest inside the cabin. How long do you think before I go deaf? 3 years tops? Lmao

I would put the MRT version 2 on your car it really sounds great at over 2000RPM this is what I have with quad tips and man it sounds sweet with the rotofab CAI
